A Profession is a disciplined group of individuals who adhere to ethical standards and who hold themselves out as, and are accepted by the public as possessing special knowledge and skills in a widely recognized body of learning derived from research, education and training at a high level, and who are prepared to apply this knowledge and exercise these skills in the interest of others. What is BSIS? The Bachelor of Science in Information Systems (BSIS) program is a four-year degree program which focuses on the design and implementation of computer-based information systems and other ICT solutions to address the demands in existing business processes. What will you learn from BSIS? The Degree program will give you knowledge of how information is generated, stored and communicated across a range of business activities. It will also equip students with skills required to understand information systems design, development as well as management. What is Information System course? Information systems is a unique field of study that draws upon elements of both computer science and business.... A program of study in information systems typically begins with some basic computer science classes, as well as business classes that cover the fundamentals of statistics, finance, marketing, and more. Career Opportunities in Information Systems: Network Administration(1) Responsible for keeping a company’s computer network running seamlessly and up-to-the-minute Network Support Personnel(2) Provide technical support to end users by resolving hardware and software problems and maintaining the overall functionality of the network system. What jobs can information systems get you? System Analysts(3) Are problem solvers at heart. They act as a link between an organization’s IT and non-IT stakeholders Consultants(4) Are external analysts who evaluate a company’s IT systems to help them meet their business objectives. Application Developer(8) Responsibility includes coding, designing, application management, troubleshooting, monitoring updates and possible security threats.
