Task: Using this template, or just this format in your own notes, work in pairs to make a plan – Too much application – Not enough detail in AO1 Common errors: – No AO3 – Slightly random application (‘make the baby do lots of exercise so she’s really tired’) Does this make the same mistakes we were just talking about? 6 Infradian rhythms Key things to know:  Length: 24-35 days  Hormones: Oestrogen and progesterone  Menstrual flow 7 Infradian rhythms: Research McClintock and Stern  Did  Found  Concluded How do you Ultradian rhythms remember ultradian rhythms are the fast ones? How long does a total cycle of sleep last? How is it measured? What is the difference between light sleep, deep sleep and dreaming sleep? 90 minutes Using EEGs (in a sleep lab – Dement and Kleitman) Stage 1/2 is light, easy to wake, alpha and theta waves, Stage 3/4 deep sleep, with slower delta waves and hard to wake, Stage 5/REM sleep = dreaming Evaluation points Use this table (in the I: Drive) and the evaluation points from the two psychboost videos (MUCH better than the points in the book!) to elaborate on the evaluation points and make sure they are fully IEJed – these can all make double whoppers if you want. These link to Stream, but they are also on Teams if you want to work in your groups. 13 What do we know now? Before next lesson: 1. Take the time to make sure that you have got sufficient notes from this lesson AND all the biopsychology lessons. 2. Have a go at the Apply it on P48 looking at using EEGs in sleep labs. 3. Go through your folder and gather a list of questions you have about what we have done to write in your class notebook. (If everyone writes the same, I’ll go over it, if it’s just you, or a few of you, I’ll go over it in smaller groups.)
