INTRODUCTION Ishe: It’s time… Kervie: To test the knowledge of an IE student Ishe: KapatIEds, this is the most exciting, nerve-wracking, and mind-boggling game you will ever witness. This is… Kervie: Celebrity Bluff! Ishe: I am your host, Ishe your Angel, with Kervie: Just K Okay. NEXT SLIDE MECHANICS Kervie: And hope you’re ready for a rollercoaster of fun and tricky questions because today, we’ve got 3 thrilling rounds that will test your brains, your speed, and your bluffing skills. Ishe: We also invited Fact Masters that are experts on the different categories, in order for us to know more about the topic. Kervie: There are 3 rounds with different category and— Ishe: When you think you've got the right answer, click the 'raise hand' button, and we'll call you to give your answer! But beware there are bluffs waiting to trip you up, so think fast and stay sharp! Kervie: So, Remember, be quick on the draw, because the faster you raise your hand, the better your chance to answer and win big..BIG? Let’s see those hands fly! Are you ready? Let’s play Celebrity Bluff! NEXT SLIDE ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ EASY ROUND: WORD WAR ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Ishe: So what are we waiting for? NEXT SLIDE Kervie: Let's start our Easy round: The WORD WAR Ishe: In this round we invited 2 fact masters, Mr. Kyle Paalisbo and Ms. Grace Marasigan. Kervie: Good morning po fact masters Kyle & Grace: Good morning din sa inyo! Ishe: This round is a refresher lang, it will test kung ano ano nga ba ang alam ng ating players. Kervie: In this round, there will be jumbled letters displayed on our bluff board. The player just has to quickly arrange the jumble letters to form the correct words. Ishe: Players, wait for our GO signal before raising your hand then provide the correct word.! Kervie: Ayan Kaya naman, here is our first word! NEXT SLIDE =====================FIRST: COMPUTER RESOURCE==================== Ishe: You may raise your hand in 3,2,1 GO! Kervie: Ayan! Si Niko Go! Go! Go!! Ano nga ba ang the first word of the day? Niko: Computer Resource pi! Kervie: Computer Resource nga ba? Let's reveal the answer! So mr. Kyle ano nga ba ang computer resources? NEXT SLIDE Kyle: So, ano nga ba ang computer resources? In simple terms, Computer resources is referred to any physical (tangible) or intangible component that is part of a computer system and can be utilized to perform various computing tasks. These resources allow us to run applications, store and process data, or/and interact with the digital world. Also, ang computer resource ay hindi lamang limited to the machines themselves but ito rin ay extend to the networks, databases, and even us that manage this system. And so, ano nga ba role neto sa Information system. Try to imagine to run a modern business with outdated hardwares/ software or having insufficient data storage. We all know that Information System (IS) is a system that collects, processes, stores, and disseminates information to support decision-making and other key functions in an organization. Without enough/ sufficient computer resources, an Information System cannot function properly. In short, computer resources are the backbone of an IS, ensuring that the system runs smoothly and efficiently. Kervie: Now that alam na natin kung ano nga ba ang computer resource, balikan natin ang history, balikannnn, huieee enebe djk? History of these resources. From ancient tools used for calculation to the complex technologies we have today. Ishe: Let’s transition to next word, about the history of computer resources…..3,2,1 NEXT SLIDE ==================SECOND: ABACUS ===================== Ishe: Hint natin dito is may beads sha, ginagamit siya as computing device way back around 2700–2300 BC in Babylon. Ayan you may raise your hand na po, Go! Kervie: Ayan si Bini Gwy daw may alam. Gwy: Basuca ba yarn? Kervie: Oh, Basuca nga ba? Let's reveal the answer! NEXT SLIDE ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Kervie: Ochch Mali! I’ll pass it over to Mr. Kyle, who will take us through the early beginnings of computer resources tools! So mr. Paalisbo, ano po ba ang abacus? Anong connect nito sa computer resources? NEXT SLIDE Kyle: So, Abacus, is one of the oldest/ earliest computing tools. Ito ay ginamit ng mga merchant to perform a simple arithmetic. People would slide beads along rods to count and calculate numbers. Noon, the invention of modern computers, people used various manual tools to handle information or assist with calculations. These tools were the first 'resources' used to simplify mathematical tasks calculations and data handling. Other examples of early resources included tools is Punch Cards, and Mechanical Calculators. There were also other devices like Napier’s Bones, the Slide Rule, and Logarithmic Tables, which played an important role in simplifying mathematical operations. These tools might not look like what we consider computers now, but they placed the foundation/ groundwork for today’s technology, moving from manual to automated methods of computation and other process of information Ishe: Wow! Napaka interesting naman ‘yan, So, lets move to the third word. ==========================THIRD: HARDWARE========================= Kervie: For our third word we have— NEXT SLIDE Ishe: Ayan na revuel na sya, you could raise your hand in 3,2,1 GOOOOO\ Kervie: Ang bibilis naman pero pinakamabilis parin si Niko, Hi Niko hihi Ishe: Mabilis ka rin makuha mimacakes! Anyway Niko, may we know your answer? Niko: Ito po ay Hard…ware Kervie: And I believe may 1 point ka sa puso ko! Ishe: Amacana beh, Bluff board please reveal! NEXT SLIDE Kyle: Basically, hardware is one of the components of computer resources it refers to the physical components of a computer system. These are the tangible parts that you can see and touch. Hardware components work together to perform various tasks. NEXT SLIDE Ishe: So konting background lang for our views noh. The first generation of computing hardware was in the 1940’s-1950’s, and it was characterized by the use of vacuum tubes. Yung tubes na ito ay kino-control ang flow ng electrical signals, functioning as switches that could amplify and switch electronic signals. Kervie: Ang mga examples po ng first computer utilize Vacuum tubes are Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer (ENIAC) and Universal Automatic Computer (UNIVAC). These machines were massive, filling entire rooms, and they consumed enormous power while being prone to frequent overheating. Also since ito nga ang pinaka una it also has slow processing speeds and low computational efficiency. Ishe: They created this of course para mas mapabilis ang computations kasi nga diba around the 1800s they still manually compute even though may mga gamit to help like abacus syempre it is still not enough. Tanong mo sa bluff board please reveal ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ NEXT SLIDE Ishe: Yes you're right Mira, it is indeed a transistor. Kaya pwede mo na ibaba yang raise hand mo. Kervie: Don’t you know, partner? Ishe: Malamang hindi? Spill mo na kaya yan! NEXT SLIDE Kervie: Ito na nga, mabalik tayo sa nakaraan around 1950’s to 1960’s was the second generation of computing hardware, dito na naintroduce ang transistor replacing vacuum tubes, making computers faster, more reliable and para mas mareduce ang size ng machine. For those who don't know, Transistor po is a semiconductor device used to amplify or switch electrical signals and power. In this era, napalitan na iyong mga malalaking machines into a much smaller computer, lower power consumption, greater reliability, faster speed, and lower cost compared sa vacuum tubes. Ishe: I know one of the famous models during that time is the IBM 7090 which was used to develop the first weather forecasting models and also used to perform the calculations for the Apollo 11 moon landing. Kervie: Hindi ko alam yan actually but thank you for sharing a new knowledge for us. NEXT SLIDE ====================FIFTH: INTEGRATED CIRCUIT==================== Kervie: Medyo mahirap to 2 words na Ishe: Reyal pero I know kayang kaya ng ating players sagutin yan! Kaya player raise your hand, GO! Kervie: Ms. Arabella na namumula mula pa. Ano po ang iyong answer? Ara: Integrated Circuits Ishe: Mukhang seryoso si ate ko, kaya naman bluff board reveal mo na yan NEXT SLIDE ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Kervie: So our word is Intergrated Ciruits, may tama ka nak NEXT SLIDE Ishe: Let’s dive on what that means in the world of computers, for clarity na rin sa ating mga viewers. During the third generation of computers, which spanned the 1960s to 1970s, nagstart ang invention ng Integrated Circuits, or ICs! These tiny chips revolutionized computing by combining multiple transistors into a single unit. Kervie: Right??! Minicomputers like the DEC PDP-8 emerged during this time. They were smaller, less expensive, and still packed a punch in terms of computing power! They were often used in scientific and engineering applications. Ishe: But let’s not forget din the giants and dominant type of computer in this era—large mainframe computers. They were massive, and quite expensive pero wag ka it is extremely powerful, handling everything from scientific research to business data processing and government operations. Kervie: Okay too much information na mag move on ka na! Bluff board i-ruveal mo na! NEXT SLIDE =======================SIXTH: MICROPROCESSOR===================== Ishe: I think mahuhulaan agad nila to, kaya raise your hand in 3,2,1 GO! Kervie: I see Gwyneth raising her hand agad agad Ishe: You may open your mic na po and tell us ano ba ang answer? Gwy: I think Microprocessor po ang word Kervie: Icheck nga natin kung nag ti-think ka ng right—bluff board reveal mo na yan NEXT SLIDE ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Ishe: Perfect nagti-think sya ng right! It is a microprocessor. NEXT SLIDE And fyi it has a big part sa fourth generation of computers, which lasted from the 1970s to the 1990s. The microprocessors integrate entire CPUs onto a single chip. Kervie: And with the introduction of microprocessors like the Intel 4004, personal computing became a reality! Companies like Apple and IBM brought computers into homes and small businesses, forever changing how we live and work. Oh diba Amazing! Ishe: This era rin introduced Graphical User Interfaces, or GUIs, ito iyong digital interface in which user interacts sa mga graphical components such as icons, buttons, and menus making computers more user-friendly, na kahit hindi techy ay kayang kaya i-operate to. But ang naging problem during this era is limited capacity and storage, and the GUIs were pretty basic, requiring better hardware for smooth operation. Let’s see what this jumbled mess spells! NEXT SLIDE ======================SEVENTH: ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE============== Ishe: I believe alam na alam to ng lahat Kervie: Reyal favourite ko nga to gamitin ih hui Ishe: Eh ang players kaya natin? Taas na nga kamay mga gumagamit nito, in 3,2,1 GO Kervie: Oh perfect daming gumagamit oh Ishe: Unang una agad si Chels, sige beh reveal mo yan answer mo Chel: Artificial Intelligence po ba to Kervie: Ask nga natin si chatgpt–ay este ang bluff board if tama ka NEXT SLIDE ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Ishe: Ayan patunay na may tama sya—Artificial Intelligence or also known as Ai. NEXT SLIDE Kervie: Yes, tama ka! Sa fifth generation of computers, which began in the 1990s and continues today, is defined by advancements sa artificial intelligence, quantum computing, nanotechnology, and parallel processing. Unlike sa mga previous generations ma mas nag focused on improving processing power and storage, the fifth generation is all about making machines think and learn like humans. Ishe: Right??? As we see in our generation talaga malaking part na ang AI sa ating everyday life, from voice assistants like Siri, Google and Alexa to self-driving cars and even smart algorithms used in healthcare. AI technologies are transforming industries, allowing machines to mimic human thought processes like reasoning, problem-solving, and even learning. Kervie: Oo nga, AI now encompasses more complex fields like machine learning and natural language processing, which allow computers to interpret human languages, recognize patterns, and make predictions. And di pa diyan nagtatapos! With quantum computing on the rise, we’re on the verge of solving highly complex problems that traditional computers can’t handle—like advanced encryption, drug discovery, and climate modeling. Ishe: Reyal lang! It’s a fascinating world of technology we have nowadays. From AI to quantum computing, the possibilities are limitless. Imagine we only have manual computing like abacus, punch cards to Ai diba. Grabe talaga ang changes now halos lahat is automatic na. In just a one click we could know and do a lot of things na. Pero, it’s time na for our next word! NEXT SLIDE ============================EIGHT: SOFTWARE======================= Kervie: Ayan naaa… I believe malambot pa sya….. Ishe: I believe sinusuot rin sya….. Kervie: Kaya players, itaas nyo na ang……..kamay (With Toni accent) Ishe: Perpukkk (with Ishe Accent) nangunguna nguna si PULA Red: Softwareee (with kulot accent) Ishe: Icheck nga natin kung nagle-learn—bluff board i-ruveal mo na! NEXT SLIDE ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Kervie: So our word Software, may tama ka…. NEXT SLIDE ….at kaunting kaalaman lamang ho mga KapatIEds na basically a bunch of programs, data, and instructions that tell your computer or any gadget how to do stuff, right? It’s, like, the part you can’t actually touch—unlike hardware, which is all the physical bits, like your laptop or phone. Ishe: Bukod pa diyan, isang characteristics nito ay pagiging Intangible. You know how you can’t actually grab software? That’s because it is not a thing you can hold. It’s all digital vibes, you feel me? And The cool thing about software is that you can change it whenever you want! If it needs an upgrade or has some bugs, developers can just tweak it to make it better or fix any issues. Kervie: But, like, software can’t work on its own. It totally needs hardware to run. Think of it like this…you can’t watch Netflix without your TV or device, right? The software is just chilling there, waiting for the hardware to do its thing. Ishe: And now it’s time na to move on to the next word. NEXT SLIDE =============================NINE: FORTRAN======================== Ishe: I believe tatakbo siya..,.. Kervie: I believe apat sila…. Ishe: Apat lang ba? eme I believe sya ay Bagong.. Kervie: Pilipinas, handa na ba kayo…you may raise your hands in 3 2 1 Ishe: Okay..Mira ano ang napupusuan mo? Mira: Uhm…Fortran po Kervie: Kaya—Bluff Board Mo i-ruveal mo na! NEXT SLIDE ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Ishe: Tumpak ganern ganern…NEXT SLIDE From 1950 to 1960, early software was all about super specific stuff—military and scientific projects. Computers were, like, huge and mega expensive, serving big orgs only. Kervie: An example of this is the FORTRAN which was launched in 1957, this made life easier for scientists and engineers—no more low-level assembly for complex programs. Total game-changer, Right!? Ishe: So, software back then was mostly low-level languages, pero some were testing high-level ones like FORTRAN and COBOL. Super specific tasks, no reusable software, and software engineering was not a thing pa, aww. Kervie: But, high-level languages brought major advancements. Compilers made coding in human-readable form possible. Pero, what were the limitations? Ishe: First off, no portability—software was machine-specific. Second, processes were slow and error-prone. And limited storage and processing power, of course. Kervie: Without FORTRAN and those pioneers, we wouldn’t have the software we enjoy today! Now, let’s move on to the next round! NEXT SLIDE ================================TEN: UNIX========================== Ishe: Ayan na…. I believe sino sya….. Kervie: Kaya naman… players, you may raise your hands in 3…2…1…Gooo Ishe: Ayan this time, Chel, sagutin mo na! Chels: Unix (with Batangas Accent) Kervie: Kaya—bluff board i-ruveal mo na! NEXT SLIDE ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Ishe: True the fireeee…NEXT SLIDE We saw the rise of operating systems, making it easier to manage resources and multitask! Kervie: And one major player? Unix! Developed at Bell Labs, it was super modular and portable and the base for many systems we use today. Ishe: Plus, it allowed multi-user and multitasking. Multiple users could share the same computer while the OS handled file management and memory. Ang galing, di ba? Kervie: And let’s talk programming! The C programming language popped up in the early '70s, letting devs write system software super fast. Fun fact: Unix itself was written in C! Structured programming made code cleaner too—like that perfect notes lineup! Ishe: Pero wait, there were limitations! Functionality was pretty basic, and systems were tied to specific hardware—portability? Wala pa! Kervie: So stick around, dahil marami pa tayong katanungan… NEXT SLIDE =====================ELEVEN: MICROSOFT WINDOWS=================== Ishe: I believe soft sya pero maliit rin sya….. Kervie: I believe nakikita siya sa bintana at dalawa sila…. Ishe: Kaya players, you may raise your hands in 3…2…1…Gooo Kervie: Ayan mukhang nakikita ko nauuna si Grace, kay piliin natin si Gwy….. Gwy: Microsoft Windows ho (with Quezon Accent) Ishe: Kaya—bluff board i-ruveal mo na! NEXT SLIDE ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Kervie: Agrreana Grande. And now, we’re taking you back to the totally tubular 1980s and 90s, we’re talking about the Software Boom, baby…NEXT SLIDE Ishe: First up, Microsoft Windows! Launched in 1985, it made computers user-friendly with its graphical interface. Apple Macintosh also dropped in 1984, showcasing sleek design and functionality. Kervie: Software shifted from system-level to consumer apps—word processors and spreadsheets became the norm for home and work! Ishe: And shoutout to Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) with C++! Developers could reuse code, and IDEs made programming a breeze. Total upgrade! Kervie: But it wasn’t all perfect! Complex software meant more bugs and security issues, plus compatibility problems between systems. Ishe: Time to move on to the next word! NEXT SLIDE ====================TWELVE: GOOGLE CLOUD PLATFORM=============== Kervie: I believe isa syang salamin…..kailan pa ba aaminin? ay.. Ishe: Ha? (with confusion look) Siguro itigil na natin to… eme…..I believe tatlong mahiwagang salita sya… Kervie: Mahiwagang Salamin…Ay…Kaya players, you may raise your hands in 3…2…1…Gooo Ishe: At this time piliin naman natin si Gra..Araaaaaa Ara: Google Cloud Platform (with Pangasinan Accent) Kervie: Kaya naman banker anong offer mo (with Kris Accent)—este bluff board i-ruveal mo na! NEXT SLIDE ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Ishe: ayan and now, we’re zooming into the 21st century—the Internet and Cloud Era! Super game-changer for software and business, promise! Kervie: So, GCP, guys! Launched in 2008, Google Cloud Platform is the ultimate tool for devs to build, deploy, and scale apps. Super easy, right? Ishe: Exactly, Welcome to Software as a Service (SaaS) No need to install anything, just log in and go. As well as the Google Docs, Plus, Agile and Developing Operating system which are making waves, and open-source heroes like Linux and Apache. Kervie: And don’t forget, with JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3, web apps are now so lit! Cloud computing makes everything run smoothly across servers—super hassle-free. Ishe: Pero, wait lang! No internet, no cloud, no fun! And with all our data online, security and privacy issues are a big deal. Keeping software quality in check can be a challenge, but it’s totally game changer! Kervie: Alright, let’s keep this energy going, let’s move on to the next round na! ==============================IMPORTANCE========================= Ishe: Ngayong nalaman na natin ang kanyang past, hui~, let’s go back na to the present. Kervie: Let’s now discuss why o why computer resources are important, especially in today’s generation. Ishe: Pero syempre we’ll still continue to play habang natuto, right??? Multitasking ba ang atake. Kervie: Without further ado, let’s proceed to our next word. NEXT SLIDE ================== 13th: COMMUNICATION =================== Ishe: Hint natin dito is lagi siyang nababanggit ng mga magkarelasyon (lalo na kung nag-aaway). Eto raw ang susi…! Kervie: Ay.. sino ba ang mga in a relationship dito, ayun si Ara daw. (charot) Ara: Communication? Kervie: Okay let's see if “Ara” got it right. Ms. Grace, ireveal na yan. NEXT SLIDE ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Grace: Wow! She got it right! The word is Communication. NEXT SLIDE Kagaya na lang ng nabanggit nila earlier, we all know that communication is the key! And, One of the most significant benefits of computer resources is how they enhance communication. Through the use internet, social media, and digital platforms, people can connect instantly. Examples of tools are like email, messaging apps such as WhatsApp, and video conferencing platforms like Zoom, Teams, and Google Meet, which enables us to work together effectively regardless of location. But it doesn’t stop there; computers are also essential in business. By automating routine tasks such as payroll processing and data entry, businesses can save time and reduce costs. Aside from that, Computer resources can collect and analyze huge amounts of data, helping businesses to gain valuable insights. Kagaya ng customer behaviour, market trends, and financial performance. It is also why businesses and organizations can make data-driven decisions, identify new opportunities for growth, and stay ahead of their competitors. Also, it enables personalized marketing, efficient customer support, and smooth online transactions, para ma-build ang customer loyalty at mapalago ang business. And that’s why,,, Now passing the mic back to our host… ================== 14th: EDUCATION ===================== Kervie: Malapit na matapos ang ating 1st round, for the second to the last, our word will be…NEXT SLIDE Ishe: Ayan, you can raise your hand in 3, 2, 1, GO. So, Red, what is your answer. Red: Education Ishe: Okay let's see if “Red” got it right. NEXT SLIDE ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Kervie: Correct! Grace, pasok! NEXT SLIDE Grace: Eh kase~, when it comes kasi to education, computers have revolutionized the way we learn. It provides students and teachers access to limitless amounts of information and educational resources such as online libraries, digital textbooks, and educational websites. Hindi lang yan, computer resources also offers interactive learning experiences through multimedia, simulations, and other educational software. These resources make education more engaging, allowing learners to explore topics in greater depth and at their own pace. Not just that, using computers helps students like us develop essential digital literacy skills like computer science, coding, and such, which are crucial sa panahon ngayon. =============== 15th: ENTERTAINMENT ================= Grace: And now we’re on our last word for the first round NEXT SLIDE …para sa mga mahilig magnetflix and chill at istream ang dilaw on loop, our last word is.. Ishe: Okay mira, what is our word? Mira: ENTERTAINMENT po? NEXT SLIDE ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Kervie: Ang galing! Ishe: oh ikaw na grace, the floor is all yours. (galit na naman) NEXT SLIDE Grace: at ayun na nga, para sa mahilig magmovie marathon and such, computer resources have greatly benefited the entertainment and creative industries, as it offers a wide range of entertainment options, including streaming services, video games, and creative software tools. It also provides tools like digital art, video editing, and music production which is for content creation, para ma-express natin yung creativity natin and to share it globally using different platforms like YouTube, Instagram at Tiktok. Pero syempre, kahit na maraming benefits si computer, it also come with risks, particularly in terms of security. So, computer resources made us become aware of cybercrime, including identity theft and online fraud. And implementing the right security measures—like using antivirus software and creating complex passwords—as well as staying informed about cybersecurity, ensures our online safety. Those are the reasons why Computer Resources are important in today’s generations as it revolutionized how we live, how we work, learn, and create. And I, Thank you! ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ NEXT SLIDE Kervie: And, that’s it for round 1. Kervie: You’ll really see kung gaano ka-active and kabibilis ang utak nila. Ishe: But would they survive, and be able to find the answers in our tricky question? Kervie: So, Let the round 2 begin. NEXT SLIDE ================================================================ MEDIUM ROUND - FIND ME ================================================================ Ishe: For this round, we will be testing our participants’ knowledge on the types of computer resources. (Adlib. Check the type box) Ishe: Ayan for this round, meron tayong makakasamang bagong fact masters. They are the experts when it comes in this area Kervie: May we call, Mr. Red Feliciano, Ms. Cheline Castillo, and Mr. Alamgir Kabir. Chels/Red/Kabir: Good morning everyone! Ishe: Good morning po sa inyo, and please guide us and the viewers on the following questions Kervie: I think, pwede na nating umpisahan ang puksaan para sa round na ito. NEXT SLIDE ========================== 1ST QUESTION ========================== Ishe: For the category of Hardware Resource, our first question is: What is the definition of Hardware Resource? Kervie: A. The physical components of a computer. B. The software programs that run on a computer. Or C. The internet connection used to access online resources. A,B or C Ishe: You all have 15 seconds to choose. Kyle: *Raises Hands* Letter A Kervie: Letter A nga ba? Fact Master, please ruveal! ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ NEXT SLIDE Red: Well, let me tell you, hardware resources are like the building blocks of a computer. Just as a building needs a strong foundation and well-coordinated components to stand tall, a computer relies on these hardware resources working together to perform its tasks efficiently. They are tangible parts you can see and touch, from keyboard to the monitor. So the correct answer is… A. the physical components of a computer. ========================= 2ND QUESTION ========================== NEXT SLIDE Ishe: You got it right! Now, let us move on to question two. Kervie: Which of the following is the primary function of hardware resources? Ishe: A. To process information. B. To store data. Or C. To provide input and output. Kervie: Again, 15 seconds to choose. Grace: *Raises Hands* Letter B po, B for Beyonce~~~ Ishe: Letter B nga ba? Fact Master, ruveal! ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ NEXT SLIDE Red: HArdware resources are all about interacting with the computer. They are the tools that let you put information in and get information out. Inputting data: Devices like keyboards, mice, and scanners allow users to enter information into the computer. Processing data: The CPU is responsible for executing instructions and performing calculations. Storing data: Storage devices such as hard drives, solid-state drives, and RAM store data for future use. Outputting data: Monitors, printers, and speakers display or deliver the processed information to the user. So the correct answer is C. To provide input and output. Grace: Hala, wrong pala???~ kala ko lagi akong tama hays Ishe: With that, I guess she wanna fight! (reenact Angel’s fighting expression). Eme ========================= 3RD QUESTION ========================== NEXT SLIDE Kervie: Now, for question three, which of the following are components of hardware resources? Ishe: A. Input, Output, CPU, Memory, Storage Devices, Network Interface Card, Motherboard, Power Supply Unit. B. Operating System, Application Software, Utility Software. Or C. Internet Browser, Search Engine, Email Client. Kervie: Again, 15 seconds to choose. Mira: *Raises Hands* Letter B ‘iyan, boss. Itataya ko ang allowance ko within this week. Letter B ‘yan, matic! Ishe: At nag-matic ka pa ah, let’s hear from our Fact Master! ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ NEXT SLIDE Red: The components of hardware resources can be categorized into several key groups: Input Device (these devices allow users to input data into the computer. Examples include: Keyboard, Mouse, Scanner, Microphone, Webcam), Output Devices (these devices display or deliver the processed information to the user. Examples include: Monitor, Printer, Speakers, Headphones), Central Processing Unit (often referred to as the “brain” of the computer, the CPU processes data and executes instructions), Memory (these components stores data temporarily while the computer is in use. It is divided into two main types: RAM (Random Access Memory: Volatile memory that loses its data when the computer is turned off), ROM (Read-Only Memory: Non-volatile memory that stores permanent data, such as the BIOS)), Storage Devices (these devices store data permanently for long-term use. Examples include: Hard disk drive (HDD), Solid-state drive (SSD), USB flash drive, Optical disc (CD, DVD, Blu-ray)), Network Interface Card (or NIC: this component enables the computer to connect to a network, allowing it to communicate with other devices), Motherboard (this is the main circuit board that connects all the other components of the computer), Power Supply Unit (PSU: this device converts AC power from the electrical outlet into DC power that can be used by the computer’s components). So the answer is A. Input, Output, CPU, Memory, Storage Devices, Network Interface Card, Motherboard, Power Supply Unit. Kervie: What a very insightful fact. Sorry, Mira, you got it wrong. Lagi nalang… eme ========================= 4TH QUESTION ========================== NEXT SLIDE Ishe: Let us now switch our category to Software resources. What is the definition of software? Kervie: A. The physical components of a computer. B. The programs that run on a computer. C. The internet connection used to access online resources. Ishe: Again, 15 seconds to choose. Ara: *Raises Hands* Letter B po. Ishe: Fact Master, B nga ba? I-ruveal mo na! ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ NEXT SLIDE Red: Software resources are the invisible part of the computer. They are the programs that give the hardware instructions on what to do. So, the correct answer is B. The programs that run on a computer. Kervie: wow, ang galing mo Ara!!! ========================= 5TH QUESTION ========================== NEXT SLIDE Ishe: For our question five, which of the following is the primary function of software resources? Kervie: A. To provide physical components. B. To process data. C. To control the hardware. Ishe: Again, 15 seconds to choose. Cheline: *Raises Hands* Letter C po. Ishe: Fact Master, C nga ba? I-ruveal mo na! ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ NEXT SLIDE Red: Software resources are like the boss of the hardware. They tell the hardware what to do and how to do it. So the correct answer is C. To control the hardware. Ishe: Omg, humahabol si Cheline. ========================= 6TH QUESTION ========================== NEXT SLIDE Kervie: Let’s now move on to our final question for this round. Which type of software is responsible for managing the computer’s resources? Ishe: A. System software. B. Application software. Or C. Utility software Ishe: Again, 15 seconds to choose. Kyle: *Raises Hands* Letter A po. Ishe: Fact Master, A nga ba? I-reveal mo na! NEXT SLIDE ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Fact Master (Red): These three choices are types of software that run on a computer, but they serve different purposes. Application software is designed to perform specific task or functions for users. It is the software that you directly interact with to accomplish your goals (example: Word processor like word or docs, spreadsheets, web browsers).Utility software, on the other hand, is designed to help manage and maintain the computer itself. It is often used to optimize performance, troubleshoot problems, or perform specific system tasks. Example is antivirus software, backup software, etc. Lastly, System software is the foundation of the computer. It is the software that makes everything else work. So the correct answer is A. System software. Ishe: Wow, what a nice answer we got from our Fact Master and a nice point for Kyle. What more sa ating succeeding questions.. Ishe: Kaya naman for our next question ========================= 7TH QUESTION ========================== NEXT SLIDE Kervie: Makinig mabuti, What is network resources? Ishe: *Tingin sa boxes sa canva – basahin po yung tatlo Kervie: You guys have 15s to decide and the timer’s start now! Mira: *Raises Hand* Letter B! Kervie: Ay sure na sure na ba?! Mira: Sure na! Ishe: Fact Master, reveal na! ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Cheline: The answer is wrong! Network resources, refer to communication media and network support that are essential for information systems in all types of business organizations. Kasi, A resource, or system resource, is any physical or virtual component of limited availability within a computer system. Kervie: Ah ayon pala iyon! Ishe, may naintindihan ka ba? Ishe: Bakit mo ako tinatanong eh host lang tayo dito? ========================= 8TH QUESTION ========================== NEXT SLIDE Kervie: Sige na nga, let’s now go to the 8th question: Ishe: What are the types of network resources? You all also have 3 options on this question. Kervie: *Tingin sa boxes sa canva – basahin po yung tatlo Ishe: Alam niyo na ang drill, 15s to answer and the timer starts now! Ara: Letter C! I am sure sure sure! Fact Master tama ba! ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ NEXT SLIDE Cheline: MAY TAMA KA! Meron tayong 3 types of Network Resources, ito ang Intranet, Extranet, and Internet. Intranet - A secure internal network for employees to share information and collaborate. Gumagamit sila ng internet pero within and scope lang ng organization. Extranet - Is an extension of the intranet that allows secure communication with external partners, like suppliers or clients. Ito naman ay hindi within organization lang but kapag binigyan ka ng company credentials mabubuksan mo ang network nila. Internet - A global network connecting people and organizations. It offers limitless opportunities for communication, collaboration, and access to information. Network infrastructure refers to the hardware and software that enable network connectivity and communication between users, devices, apps, the internet, and more. Since an organization relies on its IT network to run mission-critical applications and business operations, ensuring the underlying network infrastructure is reliable, safe, robust, and scalable is crucial. NEXT SLIDE Network Infrastructure consists of: Network infrastructure can be a mix of hardware devices, software applications, and network services, including: Hardware infrastructure typically includes routers, switches, hubs, repeaters, gateways, bridges, and modems. Software infrastructure includes monitoring and management tools and operating systems. Network services include networking protocols such as TCP, UDP, and IP addressing. An organization can extend its IT network by integrating with third-party services from managed service providers (MSPs) or build hybrid network infrastructure by integrating on-premises infrastructure with cloud services. Kervie: Woah, too much information! Ishe: Kaya nga pero Fact Master may naririnig din akong Network Infrastructure Management, ano ba ‘yon? NEXT SLIDE Cheline: Ah ayon ba? Network Infrastructure Management Network administrators ensure optimal network performance by identifying bottlenecks, solving issues, and scaling infrastructure to support business growth. Network infrastructure management focuses on five key areas: 1. Network Infrastructure Monitoring: Continuous monitoring detects issues, like overloaded routers, preventing downtime and maintaining availability. 2. Configuration Management: Ensures network devices are properly configured, patched, and upgraded. Automation tools assist in managing large networks. 3. Performance Management: Monitors key metrics like bandwidth, latency, and throughput to maintain network efficiency and ensure smooth business operations. 4. Fault Management: Identifies and resolves issues, often with automated tools, reducing recovery time and preventing recurring problems. 5. Security Management: Protects the network from threats using firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and traffic monitoring to quickly detect and block attacks. In summary, effective network infrastructure management optimizes network performance and security, ensuring business continuity. Ishe: Parang nahilo ako roon, kervie! Kaya let’s go to the next question: ========================= 9TH QUESTION ========================== NEXT SLIDE Kervie: Who are considered the end-users of an information system? *Tingin sa boxes sa canva – basahin po yung tatlo Ishe: 15s and the timer starts now! ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Cheline: Mali ‘yang na-chismis ng nanay mo kasi P\people are essential to the operation of information systems. End users, such as managers or clerks, use these systems for their jobs. Professionals like analysts and programmers maintain and develop these systems. Technology has transformed HR. It helps HR collect, store, and share information efficiently. HR professionals now adapt to changing social, economic, and technological environments. This enables them to improve human resource management and support organizational growth. What a great explanation by mr.kabir, thank you! ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ HARD ROUND - FACT OF BLUFF ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ NEXT SLIDE Kervie: Grabe, ang intense ng ating first two rounds, partner! Our players have been killing it—wala talagang makapipigil sa kanila, walang gustong sumuko! Mas mahirap, mas matindi, at talagang pangmalakasan! Kervie: In this round we invited Ms. Mirachelle Laraya, Ms. Gwyneth Magadia, and Ms. Arabella De Guzman to help us know more about the challenges and application of computer resources. Ishe: Kaya naman for the final and difficult round, we will be playing… NEXT SLIDE Kervie: “Fact or Bluff” Ishe: So, here's how it works. The host will read the statement displayed on our bluff board, and you (players) have to quickly determine if it's a fact or a bluff. Kervie: If it’s a fact, say “Fact na fact” and if it’s a bluff, “Bluff na bluff”. The first one to raise their hand after we say the word “GO” gets the chance to identify the nature of the statement. The one with the most points at the end wins. Kaya players, ready na ba kayo? Ishe: Now that we are all ready, let’s start the fact or bluff! NEXT SLIDE ══════════════════ FIRST: CHALLENGES══════════════════ Ishe: For the first statement, this is in the category of challenges that computer resources are facing. “Computer resources are immune to overutilization.” I repeat, “Computer resources are immune to overutilization.” Players, is it a fact or a bluff? You can now raise your hand in 3, 2, 1, GEW! Ms. Castillo, is it a fact or a bluff? NEXT SLIDE ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Kervie: It’s a bluff! NEXT SLIDE Mira: Computer resources are not immune to overutilization. Overutilization in computer resources, especially within the context of information systems, refers to the situation where computing resources such iyong processors natin, memory, storage, or network bandwidth are used beyond sa kanilang optimal capacity. Mira: Kapag naooverutilize natin ang resources, the system would have trouble handling any additional requests efficiently, leading to many problems. Ishe: Ano ba muna iyong frequent requests, Mira, so that our viewers could know? Mira: Sure, uhm, in this context, a "request" refers to a demand made by a user, a program, or a process to the system for resources or services. Mira: A program asking the CPU to perform calculations, system storing or retrieving data from a disk or database, and system transmitting or receiving data over a network katulad iyong pag-loading ng isang webpage or pag-download ng isang file are just some of the examples of a request. Mira: Now, when the system’s CPU or memory is overutilized, response times increase, bumabagal, making applications and processes run slower than expected. Hardware and software components are being strained kapag nagkakaroon, again, ng overutilization sa ating resources which increases the system’s vulnerability to crashes or hardware failure. Mira: Okay, for us to understand this situation better, imagine an online shopping application or platform during a major sale-- like 11.11 ng shopee, alam kong familiar tayo lahat dito. Mira: Under normal conditions, the application handles a manageable number of visitors. But during the sale, dagsa ang bilang ng users na pumapasok sa system nang sabay-sabay to grab the deals that the platform offers. As more users flood the site, the servers' CPU and memory get overwhelmed trying to handle thousands of simultaneous requests. The website begins to load slower, and pages take longer to appear because the system is juggling too many tasks at once. Iyon lang, kaya bluff! Kervie: Ang haba naman non. Thanks, Mira. ══════════════════ SECOND: FUTURE TREND ══════════════════ NEXT SLIDE Ishe: Alright, let’s dive into the second question of our game, “Fact or Bluff?” Ishe: Here’s your question: “Emerging technologies only refer to brand new inventions.” Fact or bluff? Red: Bluff! NEXT SLIDE Kervie: You nailed it! Hahhaha. So, emerging technology is a term generally used to describe new technologies, but it also refers to the ongoing development of existing technologies. It can have slightly different meanings in various fields like media, business, science, or education. The term commonly refers to technologies that are currently developing or those expected to be available within the next five to ten years. These are usually technologies that are creating or are expected to create significant social or economic effects. Later on I’ll discuss what are the following trends or emerging technologies that we have Kervie: Mukhang babalik pa ang ating Fact Master! We’ll look forward to more great insights. Now, going back to our game—partner, basahin mo na ang ating next question! NEXT SLIDE ══════════════════ THIRD: APPLICATION ══════════════════ Kervie: Now we’re moving on to our third question under the category of "Applications for Engineers." Ready na ba kayo? Here’s your statement: "CAD software is primarily used for creating detailed designs, while numerical computing tools are mainly used for performing complex calculations and simulations." Is it a Fact or a Bluff? Ishe: You could raise your hand in 3,2,1. I see Cheline ang nauna, go girl is it a fact or bluff?\ Cheline: Sabi ni Lord, Fact na fact daw po! Ishe: Talaga ba ate ko? Sige nga explain chz. Kervie: Let’s reveal the answer! NEXT SLIDE Tamaaa, its a fact. So, Fact Master Gwy, can you please explain why is it a fact ? NEXT SLIDE ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Gwyneth: Tama ka, Cheline! That’s indeed a Fact! Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software is essential for engineers to create precise 2D and 3D models. We're familiar naman sa AutoCAD since nagkaroon tayo ng ganitong subject when we're on our 1st year. This is also a widely used Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software na dinevelop ng Autodesk, kung saan nga nagagamit ito ng mga engineers to designed either 2D or 3D digital drawings. It is most essential sa mga civil engineering and architectures since sila mostly ang gumagawa ng mga technical drawings na ginagawan nila ng mga architectural models. Gwyneth: On the other hand, it's also a fact that numerical computing tools are used for performing complex calculations, simulations, and algorithm development. So magagamit natin ang application na ito sa pagsolve ng mahihirap na math problems, pag analyze ng mga datas, pagdevelop ng mga models that can simulate real-world behaviour na makakatulong sa ating mga IE students. One example of this is the MATLAB of Matrix Laboratory application and it was developed by MathWorks. Gaya nga ng sabi ko kanina, It can be used for mathematical computations, sa algorithm development, maging sa data analysis, and visualization. Ishe: AYorn naman pala e, it’s indeed a fact nga sabi ng ating fact master. Thank you, Gwy. Now, let’s keep the momentum going as we move on to our fourth question! NEXT SLIDE ══════════════════ FOURTH: CHALLENGES ══════════════════ Kervie: For our 4th question, again, this is under the category of challenges of computer resource. “Hardware obsolescence refers to the process by which hardware becomes outdated, no longer supported, or unable to meet current technological needs due to advances in technology, changes in software requirements, or a lack of compatibility with modern systems.” Is this a fact or a bluff? Kervie: Mr. Feliciano raised his hand first, ang bilis ah? Well, Mr. Feliciano, is it a fact or a bluff? Ishe: The question, Mr. Feliciano is on the board. NEXT SLIDE ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Ishe: It’s indeed a fact! Fact Master Mira? NEXT SLIDE Mira: Hardware obsolescence refers to the process by which hardware becomes outdated, no longer supported—ang haba! Basta ano iyan, fact iyan! Trust me bro. Mira: ‘De kasi ganito iyan, as newer and more efficient hardware is being developed, iyong mga older hardware of course might struggle to keep up, leading to performance issues, inefficiencies, and increased costs kaya isa iyan sa challenges in computer resources. Bakit? Of course, obsolete hardware often no longer receives security updates, leaving systems exposed to security risks and older network routers or firewalls might not support the latest encryption standards or security protocols, making them easy targets for hackers seeking to exploit vulnerabilities. Mira: Lastly, as hardware becomes obsolete or outdated, it tends to fail more frequently, leading to higher maintenance and repair cost and finding replacement parts for outdated systems can be difficult and expensive kasi baka mamaya iyong certain part pala na need palitan o ayusin sa isang hardware ay phase out na or something. At maaari, iyong cost of keeping older systems operational ay mamaya mas mahal kaysa sa cost of upgrading to newer or more efficient one. So, that’s why the answer for that statement is bluff. Ishe: Mira… Mira: Po? Ishe: Fact ang tamang sagot… Mira: Sorry. So, that’s why the answer for that statement is fact! NEXT SLIDE ══════════════════ FIFTH QUESTION: APP ══════════════════ Ishe: Now, let’s jump into our fifth question! We're still in the realm of "Applications for Engineers." I can feel the excitement in the air! Kervie: Here’s the statement: "Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software is crucial for assessing structural behavior, while data analysis tools are mainly used for creating 3D models." Kervie: Yes mimaa, I see Red has his hand up! Go, Red! Red: That sounds like Bluff na bluff! Hindi ata yan tama! Ishe: Bakit mo naman nasabi yan, Red? Eme ka a. Red: Kasi, data analysis tools are for handling data, hindi para sa 3D modeling! Di mo alam no? Kaya Fact Master Gwyneth, please explain the correct answer for Red’s question! NEXT SLIDE ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Gwy: That’s a Bluff! FEA software or Finite Element Analysis software is essential for analyzing how structures behave under various conditions. Isa sa mga example nito, is 'yong abaqus, if some of you are familiar with the application, Ang Abaqus ay isang advanced na software ng (FEA) at computer-aided engineering (CAE) na ginagamit ng mga engineers sa iba't ibang industries such as aerospace engineering and automotive. It also allow us to do in-depth study ng mga materials and structures, with the use of the advanced model of materials like plasticity at viscoelasticity. Gwy: While the data analysis tools, such as Microsoft Excel and microsoft word, are mainly used to manipulate and interpret data, and not for creating 3D models, na nakalagay sa statement that's why bluff ang naging answer. So nabanggit ko nga na, one of the example of this is Microsoft Excel. For sure naman na lahat tayo nakagamit na nito or even hindi engineers ay alam kung paano ito gamitin kahit mga basic formulas lang, diba. We use excel to assist in organizing our data, nakakapag input tayo ng mga information, performing statistical analysis, ng mga formulas, and visualizing results and such and it helps us, engineers, to make informed decisions based on empirical evidences. That’s all po. Kervie: Thank you, Fact Master, dami talagang natutunan ng ating mga audience. Nakakatuwa naman. Ishe: Right?? Righttt. Now, let’s keep it rolling and transition to our sixth question! NEXT SLIDE ══════════════════ SIXTH: FUTURE TREND ══════════════════ Ishe: Shuffle uli tayo, partner! Let’s go back to the future trends of computer resources with our game, “Fact or Bluff.” Kervie: This is our sixth question, partner. Mahulaan pa kaya nila ito ng tama? Ishe: May nag-raise hand na agad, larooo. [*Cheline raises her hand] Kalma muna tayo. Ang ating next question ay: “In Machine Learning, a program can generate itself without any human input.” Kervie: Nauna pa rin talaga si Cheline! Kamusta naman, mauna sa iba? Ikaw na teh ang napili! Ishe: Bongga naman! So, Cheline, what’s your answer? Let's call on our fact master, Ara! ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ NEXT SLIDE Ara: Hello again! So, I’ll discuss four trends from my list para hindi mabigat ang info. 1 | Simulan natin sa AI and Machine Learning. AI is about teaching computers to perform tasks that usually require human thinking. For example, things like recognizing faces, understanding speech, or making decisions. In Training Computers. AI focuses on how we can train computers to do things better than humans can right now. Human-Like Abilities. Its goal is to give machines the same smart abilities that humans have, like learning from experience and solving problem Machine Learning naman (ML) is a way for computers to learn and improve on their own without needing specific instructions from a programmer. Think of it like teaching a child (Parang pagtuturo ng bata) so instead of telling them every detail, we show them examples, and they learn from those experiences, machines use data to figure out patterns and make better decisions over time. Automatic Improvement. As the machine gets more data, it gets better at its tasks without needing to be reprogrammed. Input and Output. We can create a program by feeding it information (those are input) and seeing what it produces (which is output natin). The machine learns how to connect the two on its own. –NEXT SLIDE Another trend Edge computing– a distributed information technology (IT) architecture in which client data is processed at the periphery of the network, as close to the originating source as possible. In simple words, edge computing helps devices process information faster by working closer to where the data comes from. Imagine we have a smart camera in a store. Instead of sending all the video footage to a big data center for analysis, edge computing lets the camera analyze the footage right there in the store. — Next, Quantum computing used to solve computational problems that would take far too long using classical methods. A huge area of experimental research and development right now, while classical computers use bits (0s and 1s) to represent data, quantum computers use qubits. The key difference is that qubits can represent both 0 and 1 at the same time, thanks to a property called superposition. This allows quantum computers to handle much more complex calculations than classical computers. 4th trend natin | Augmented and Virtual Reality Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology that blends the real world with digital elements. It adds computer-generated images or information on top of what you see in reality. AR allows you to see both the real world and digital content at the same time. For example, when you use a smartphone app that shows directions on your screen while you walk, that’s AR in action. Virtual Reality (VR) creates an entirely different world that you can immerse yourself in. In VR, you wear a headset that blocks out the real world and replaces it with a computer-generated environment. For example, we might find ourselves in outerspace. Nakikita natin ang mga bituin at planeta sa paligid mo, and it's like reality. Both technologies offer exciting ways to interact with digital content. That’s all for our 4 trends. We still have 3 to discuss. Kinaya mo ba, partner? But there's more for our ‘Fact or Bluff’ game. I think it's time to move on to the next question. NEXT SLIDE ══════════════════ SEVENTH: CHALLENGES ══════════════════ Ishe: Ang gagaling naman SUMAGOT ng players natin. Diyan kayo lahat magaling! Now, para sa ika-pitong fact or bluff question, this is under the category of challenges of computer resource ulit. “Data Breaches and Unauthorized Access, Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) Attacks, and Insider Threats are some of the cybersecurity challenges that computer resources face.” Players, is this… a fact or—Si Mr. Paalisbo, hindi pa ako tapos nakataas na! Oh sige, Mr. Paalisbo, ipakita mo kung sino ka… is it a fact or a bluff?” Kyle: Fact po. Ishe: Fact na fact? Kyle: Omskrt! Bluff board, is it a fact or a bluff? Please, reveal! NEXT SLIDE ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Ishe: It is a fact! Care to explain, Fact Master Mira? NEXT SLIDE Mira: Omskrt. Data Breaches and Unauthorized Access, Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) Attacks, and Insider Threats are some of the cybersecurity issues that the resources might face. Cybersecurity issues in computer resources arise when systems are exposed to risks that could compromise the confidentiality, integrity, or availability of data and operations. As organizations increasingly rely on complex IT infrastructures, protecting these resources from cyber threats becomes more challenging. Mira: For data breaches, when computer resources, tulad ng mga databases or storage systems, are inadequately protected tulad ng pagkakaroon ng weak authentication methods o unencrypted data, attackers can exploit these vulnerabilities. Unencrypted data, ito iyong mga information that is stored or transmitted in its original, readable format without any protection. Data breaches are particularly concerning in industries of healthcare or finance, where data breaches could lead to identity theft, financial loss, or regulatory penalties. DDoS attacks exploit the fact that many systems have limited capacity to handle a surge in traffic. Dahil dito, bumabagal o nagka-crash ang isang system, kaya legitimate users would be denied access to services. Mira: Panghuli, insider threats. Mira: Since, last naman na, let me give you an example. An employee who is unhappy with the company might purposely delete important files, corrupt databases, or disable systems before leaving the organization to cause disruption or maybe… may isang trusted employee tayo na may access sa mga sensitive information tulad ng customer data or iyong mga secrets ng business natin, kunwari recipe ng Jollibee chicken joy ganon… tapos itong trusted employee na ito, ninakaw iyong information na iyon at binenta sa competitors natin tulad ng kfc o mcdo. Iyon ang sample situations of insider threat under cybersecurity. Kervie: Thank you, Fact Master Mira. That’s a very informative take on cybersecurity threats that our computer resources might face. Mira: Yes, Kervie. In order for us to avoid overutilization, obsolescence, and cybersecurity threats, practice efficient resource management by only using necessary applications, regularly updating hardware and software, and implementing strong security measures like strong passwords, two-factor authentication, and reliable backups. Stay informed about emerging technologies and cybersecurity trends to prolong the life of your systems and protect them from threats. ═════════════════ EIGHTH QUESTION: TREND ══════════════════ ARA: INSERT FUTURE TREND QUESTION AND SCRIPT NEXT SLIDE Ishe: Now, onto our 8th question! Future trends uli tayo, partner. Here’s the question—please raise your hands if you want to answer. Kervie: “Cyber-criminals primarily target social media sites to steal personal data, while bank transactions are generally safe and do not require security measures.” Fact or Bluff? Ishe: Nakipag-unahan talaga si Niko! Ano kaya ang masasabi niya? Tama kaya? Niko, state your answer. Niko: Bluff! Kervie: Fact Master, *adlib na lang po NEXT SLIDE ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ NEXT SLIDE Ara: Cyber-criminals target both social media sites and bank transactions, making it essential to take security measures for both. This brings us to our 6th trend: Cybersecurity and Privacy Solutions. In today's digital age, protecting data privacy and security is a top priority for any organization. Almost all information we use—whether personal or professional—is stored online, making it vulnerable to cyber threats. Next up is High Performance Computing (HPC). HPC refers to the use of supercomputers and parallel processing techniques to solve complex computational problems. It combines the power of multiple computers to work together, delivering much more computing power than traditional computers or servers. Finally, we have 5G and Beyond. The rollout of 5G, and eventually 6G, will enable faster and more reliable wireless communication. This will improve the performance of cloud-based resources and edge computing while enhancing IoT and smart city applications. Ishe: Thank you, Ara! What an insightful discussion on these future trends! As we wrap up, remember that staying informed about these advancements is crucial for both personal safety and professional growth. Kervie: Absolutely! Whether it's enhancing cybersecurity measures or embracing high-performance computing, being proactive is key. ══════════════════ NINTH: APP ══════════════════ Ishe: Ayan mga mimaaa, welcome to the ninth question of our Fact or Bluff game! Kervie: Ayan gising pa sila, right? Ishe: Ready na ba ang lahat? Let’s dive in! NEXT SLIDE For the ninth statement, it is under the topic: Application for Engineers ,"Simulation software is not used for testing systems without physical prototypes, while Building Information Modeling (BIM) software enhances collaboration in construction projects, and automation software increases manual tasks." Is it a fact or a bluff??? Kervie: Eyy, so Grace este Red..is it a fact or a bluff?? Red: Ahm, I guess the answer is Bluff, Bluff na bluffff?? Right? Kervie: Tama nga ba ang sagot moo?? Syempre tama ka, ikaw yan eh. EMEEE Ishe ano nga ba ang answer? ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ NEXT SLIDE Ishe: Tama nga siya, may tama siya! It's a bluff. Fact Master, Gwy? NEXT SLIDE Gwy: Yess, tama yan talaga siya. So bale rito, tatlong applications ang nabanggit, the simulation software, BIM or Building Information Modeling (BIM) software and the automation software. I'll explain it one by one. So, the answer for this question is a bluff. The reason why is the sentence "simulation software is not used for systems without physical prototypes. The word "not" is wrong, since Simulation software does allow engineers to test systems without physical prototypes. Through its graphical programming environment, users can create models using block diagrams. Ang user-friendly na interface nito is that it allows engineers or us engineering students, na gumamit ng drag-and-drop functionality (nagbibigay-daan sa mga user na pumili ng isang item o object sa screen, "i-drag" ito papunta sa ibang lokasyon, at pagkatapos ay "i-drop" ito doon) ng mga blocks that represents every components and systems na nagbibigay-daan sa kanila na i-visualize at i-simulate ang mga complex systems nang mas madali. Gwy: Next is the BIM (Building Information Modelling) software, enhances collaboration in construction projects by providing a digital representation of a building's physical and functional characteristics. It is more likely similar to AutoCad since sa autocad, pwede rin tayo makabuo ng mga models in 2d or 3d to know its physical and functional characteristics. One example of this, is the Revit na dinevelop din ng autodesk same as sa autocad, this is a helpful tool especially sa mga archi and civil engineers to know the real life designs and structures of their models. Gwy: Lastly is the Automation software, it streamlines repetitive tasks, reducing manual labor and increasing efficiency. Example naman nito is UiPath, ito ay isang leading Robotic Process Automation (RPA) platform na ginagamit to automate repetitive tasks in a business or organization. This software allows organizations to create software robots (bots) that can perform tasks such as data entry, invoice processing, and report generation, na walang kahit anong human intervention. na tutulong sa process, and nakakatulong ang application na ito para mapadali ang mga operation, i-minimize ang pagkakamali ng mga tao, and increase efficiency. Kervie: Ayon naman pala ‘yon, thank you Ms. Gwy for that wonderful explanation, sheesh. ══════════════════ TENTH: APP ══════════════════ Ishe: Were now into the last but definitely not the least question. Kaya pa ba? Last na to mga mimasaurs. Let's finish strong with our tenth question. NEXT SLIDE Kervie: I see Kyle is ready to answer! Nag raise yan siya ng hand niya. (pabebe) Ishe: Here’s your statement: "Applications for engineers are essential tools that help improve efficiency, accuracy, and collaboration in engineering tasks." is it a Fact or Bluff? Kyle:I believe, ladies and gentlemen, it's Fact na fact! Ishe: Sige nga kung totoo, Kyle, anong mga tools ang naiisip mo? Kyle: Uh, CAD, FEA, at data analysis tools! Lahat yan super helpful! Kervie: sana all helpful diba. Ishe: sheeshh. I-reveal na nga natin ang answer. NEXT SLIDE ══════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Kervie: Ayan, tama ka Kylee, Its a fact! Ishe: Fact Master, Gwy? Can you explain why is it a fact? NEXT SLIDE Gwy: Yess, that's a Fact. An application for engineers generally refers to software or tools designed to assist engineers in their work. These applications can range from specialized software programs to mobile apps, at nagbibigay ito ng benefits sa ating mga engineers at engineering students depende sa kung anong application or anong gagawin natin. Gwy: Ayan makikita natin sa slides ang ilang mga software applications na beneficial sa course natin, and to be specific, Ilan sa mga applications na nagagamit natin as industrial engineer are AutoCad, Minitab na nagamit natin sa Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt, Microsoft Excel and Word, programming tools like c++ and such. And also, microsoft visio for process mapping and paggawa ng mga charts for our reports. Overall, these applications enhance decision making and operational effectiveness industries and helps us, students to make our life as an engineering make easier. NEXT SLIDE OUTRO Kervie: Thank you Ms. G sa napakaangas na explanation. And there you have it, KapatIEds! A big round of applause for our players for this edition! Ishe: Wow, what a session! You all did amazing today, guys! I hope you all learned something new today. NEXT SLIDE Kervie: Until next time, everyone! Stay curious and keep learning. Ishe: We hope our views learn a lot from this episode! Kervie: Again I am your host, Just K okay Ishe: And I am Ishe your Angel! Both: And this is Celebrity Bluff!
