His medications are: Perindopril 5mg daily Anginine (GTN) spray prn Metropolol 25mg bd Mylanta 20 - 30 mL prn Omeprazole (PPI) 20mg daily Salbutamol (Ventolin) 5mg nebules or salbutamol MDI 4/24 prn Frusemide 40mg bd Prednisolone (Corticosteroid) 10mg daily Pulmicort Turbuhaler (Corticosteroid) 200mcg BD Aspirin 100mg daily How does salbutamol work in the treatment of asthma? Corticosteroids are effective for the treatment of asthma. How do they help relieve the symptoms of COPD? John has been prescribed an inhaled corticosteroid.
