It can be classified as AIR, WATER and LAND POLLUTION. AIR POLLUTION It refers to the contamination of the air due to harmful gases from industries, vehicles, and agricultural areas. WATER POLLUTION It refers to the contamination of bodies of water usually by human activities like the dumping of industrial wastes, mining activities, sewage and wastewater, chemical fertilizers and pesticides. LAND POLLUTION Is the contamination of the land or soil which is caused by the dumping of solid or liquid waste materials. Community and Environmental Health Problems and Issues IMPROPER WASTE DISPOSAL Waste that is improperly disposed of contaminates the soil, air and water. This brings risks to the lives of humans, animals and plants Land Degradation It is the decline in the condition of the land because of deforestation , extreme weather conditions and human activity. Participation and support from the community are essential as well as from the program’s group members to ensure a successful implementation of the project. ENVIRONMENTAL POLICIES AND LAWS ❑Environmental policies and laws are deemed important to protect the environment and help the people to use the abundant natural resources prudently and wisely. REPUBLIC ACT 9003 ❑RA 9003 is also known as the Ecological solid Waste Management Act of 2000. ✓ It aims to protect the environment and human health trough an ecological solid waste management program. REPUBLIC ACT 9275 ❑RA 9275 is also known as the Philippine Clean Water act of 2004 , aims to protect all bodies of water in the country from pollution. ✓ It provides an integrated strategy through a participatory approach by involving stakeholders like a group of people , organizations and companies to reduce pollution. REPUBLIC ACT 8749 RA 8749 is also known as the Philippine Clean Air Act of 1999. This is to protect people and maintain clean air in the environment. ✓ It is to achieve sustainable development while recognizing the responsibility of the local government units to take part in environment issues.
