FORMATIVE YEARS OF PAKISTAN 1947 TO 1958 Era from 1947 to 1958 is called formative years of Pakistan. As a newborn country Pakistan was trying to stand on its own feet with self-reliance, strong economy and deep rooted cultural values.The detail written below:  Pakistan faced lot of issues since initial days such as migration problem, unjust demarcation, lack of infrastructure, division of assets etc. Pakistan had to face it patiently.  In 24th October 1948, first war of Kashmir fought between Pakistan and India.The cease-fire occurred by an agreement that Referendum will be held in Kashmir.  In 11th September 1948, Quaid-e-Azam died and Pakistan deprived of the central leadership, an irreparable loss of the nation.  In 23rd March 1949, objective resolution was passed. It was a basic principles draft to make and stick upon Pakistan on its philosophical roots.  In 3rd to 5th May 1950, Liaqat Ali visited USA , laid the foundation of Pak U.S relationship.  On 16th October 1951, the first Prime Minister Mr Ali Khan was shot dead by Said Akbar considered a big loss of the country.  After death of Quaid-e-Azam, Urdu Bengali controversy culminated in 1952. Strikes and processions spread over the country to declare Bengali language as national language parallel to Urdu.  In 1954- 1955, Pakistan signed military agreement Cento and Seato with USA to get military assistance against India and country had to compromise upon neutrality.  In 1955, five year plan was introduced first time to set economic targets.Though the goals were not achieved but it considered as first step towards economic stability.  On 23rd March 1956, first constitution of Pakistan was implemented which was parliamentary, democratic and Islamic in nature, providing basic rights to all citizens and Bengali with Urdu declared as national languages of Pakistan.  On 7th October 1958, Martial law imposed in Pakistan. It was argued that democracy could not play significant role and political turmoil was so intensive that foreign power could attack in the country so imposition of Martial law was inevitable.
