AIM OF A FIRST AID PROVIDER 1. Preserving life 2. Alleviating suffering 3. Preventing further illness or injury, 4. Promoting recovery ACTION PLANE Assess a situation. Safety of yourself and any casualties. Prevent cross-contamination between yourself and the casualty as best as possible. Assess the casualty: Treat the casualty. Arrange for removal of casualty for hospital Stay with a casualty until care is available..ASSESS A SITUATION PREVENT CROSS- CONTAMINATION gloves Goggles Face mask apron 1. Avoid coughing, breathing, or speaking over the wound 2. Avoid direct contact with body fluids 3. Use only clean bandages and dressings 4. Avoid treating more than one casualty without washing hands and changing gloves 5. Clean up both casualty and yourself 6. Dispose of dressings, bandages, gloves and soiled clothing correctly 7.
