Ecosystem Ecosystem is consist of Living organisms nonliving things Living organisms interact with Nonliving things. Example of nonliving things: 1- Water. 2 - Soil. 3 - Temperature. 4 -Minerals and Elements. 5 - Air. 6 - Light (Sun). How can Living organisms interact with nonliving things For example (plant)? Ecosystem The plant use the water, soil, air, light and minerals to make photosynthesis to make own food. - Ecosystem depend on flow of energy between living organisms. - Energy can flow through from : 1- plant to animals. 2- and animals to other animals when they eat each other. 3- when living organisms die, the energy retured to soil. - The sun is the main or primary or initial or original source of energy on the earth. - Ecosystem provides food , water and shelter - Ecosystem are many forms such as ocean, dessert ,rainforest and other....... Ecosystem Hawks - Hawks eat animals only such as snake, mice, fish. and eat small ground animals. - Hawks don’t eat any plant. - Hawks depend on energy that from plant. - Hawks eat plant indirectly. Q / Which animals can attack the hawks ? eagles or other hawks. When the hawks die , what happen for the energy ? The energy is retured the soil. Ecosystem What do animals eat ? 1 - Plant absorb the sun to make their own food to grow and gain energy. 2 -Then mice or rabbit eat plant. 3 - Then snake eat rabbit. 4 - Then hawk eats snake 5 - Then the eagle eats hawk or the other hawk eat it 6 - Finally , When the hawk die, the body is composed and return the soil. Ecosystem flow the energy the sunlight energy plant small animals (mice...) the middle animal (snake...) The large animals (hawks and eagles....) Soil finally Ecosystem Q / Why animals eat plants or other animals Because they cannot make their own food. There are some activities need more of energy and some activities need less of energy. The examples of activities need more energy : hard work , do exercises The examples of activities need less energy : sleeping, thinking Q / What is the type of energy that help make food ? Sunlight. - sunlight convert (combine) CO2 and water into glucose. Ecosystem Glucose rich in energy. The type of food that provides them with energy. (Glucose) Plant can only of living organisms make their own food (manufacture) Living organisms can be classified into 3 types by the way of feeding : producers and consumers and decomposers Producers (plants only) - they are organisms make their own food. - can't feed on other plant or other animals. - get the energy from the sun. - produce the glucose rich in energy. - the primary animals eat the plant to get energy. Ecosystem Consumers (animals) Living organisms eat plant and other animals to get energy Consumers classified into 3 types : 1 - primary Consumers. 2 - secondary Consumers. 3 - tertiary Consumers. Primary Consumers Q / The type of Consumers eat producers to get energy........... The answer is (Primary Consumers) - Primary Consumers have another name is or known as or called as herbivoers Ecosystem Decomposers (very tiny animals) Living organisms break down the complex dead body into very very small parts Q / which animals can make decomposition? Fungi , bacteria and other tiny animals Q / what happen when decomposition? Small parts that break down rich in nutrients return the soil. Q / Does the nutrients benefit the soil ? Why? Yes , the nutrients increase the fertility of soil for help grow new plant. Dead body of living organism Small parts
