All examinations and | | treatments will be performed in real time. | | | | You will serve as the team leader and will be provided with one | | assistant that is trained to your level of care. They will act as | | your assistant but will only perform interventions you order. They | | will not perform dangerous interventions and will practice good crew | | resource management to prevent medical errors. You may ask questions | | about the scenario that is not identified on the manikin, but answers | | to questions about specific skills or treatment will not be provided. | | You may ask questions directed toward the patient or bystanders. | | Additional information may be provided where relevant and questions | | may be asked for clarification purposes. You will not receive | | prompting during this examination. | | | | This assessment is a graded examination. Minimum score overall | | (without critical fail) is 60%. If no critical criteria have been | | recorded, marks are awarded out of the possible based on the | | scenario. N/A will not be counted and will not be factored in | | possible points. If any critical criterion is recorded as a zero in | | the scoring, then any marks achieved will be voided and the | | assessment will be recorded as an automatic zero. | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | **COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES** | +=======================================================================+ | This exam will assess the following course learning outcomes: | | | | +------------------------------------------------------------------+ | | | CLO 3 Demonstrate a systematic patient assessment, formulation | | | | of differential diagnosis describing the individual's alteration | | | | in health status and their appropriate prehospital triage | | | | status. | | | | | | | | CLO 5 Demonstrate the ability to integrate the theoretical | | | | knowledge and clinical skills to the assessment and management | | | | of trauma to include clinical problem-solving and | | | | decision-making, professionalism, safety, documentation, | | | | communication and teamwork. | | | | | | | | CLO 6 Demonstrate professional affective behavior and | | | | communication when dealing with patients, family members, and | | | | other healthcare providers. | | |
