The K-12 Framework of Mathematics Education The Philippines' K–12 mathematics curriculum aims to foster critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Each of the five content areas that make up the curriculum has its own set of standards and competencies. Additionally, the curriculum highlights particular attitudes and values. Critical Thinking and Problem Solving Constructivism Constructivism relies on the idea that people actively generate their own knowledge and that reality is defined by the lessons they learn. As they learn new material, they build on their existing knowledge, which serves as a foundation. Cooperative Learning Cooperative learning is a teaching strategy in which students collaborate in small groups to accomplish common learning objectives. Discovery and Inquiry-based Discovery learning is a Learning constructivist, inquiry-based learning theory that occurs in problem-solving scenarios where the learner uses prior knowledge and their own experiences to uncover new information and linkages. Situated and Experiential- There are two distinct methods of Based learning: Learning situated learning and experiential learning. While situated learning takes place in the context of the experience, experiential learning is centered on the experience itself. Reflective Learning In order to enhance the learning process and its related results, reflective learning is actively tracking and evaluating your performance, knowledge, and skills throughout the learning process.
