When you summarize, you make a story shorter whilst keeping all the important details. You do not tell the whole story again. A common but efficient way of summarizing stories is S.W.B.S.T or Somebody, Wanted, But, So, and Then. Somebody: It refers to the main character. Wanted: What the main character wants But: Who or what came in the character's way So: How the character handled the problem Then: What happened afterwards This method can be used in a work of fiction. But not just fiction stories. Fiction paragraphs, fiction movies, Anything! As long as it has the elements of a story and is a work of fiction. Group Activity: Summarize the story below.
