Persons who were physically in the same place throughout much of a disaster may have been exposed to different specific traumatic events during and after the disaster. - The “same” disaster may involve multiple elements ranging from accidental trauma (e.g., car, train, boat, or plane accidents, fires, explosions), to natural environmental cataclysm (e.g., floods, hurricanes, earthquakes), to deliberately caused devastation (e.g., lootings, riots, bombings, shootings, torture, rape, assault, and battery).
