Liberal world political paradigm Advantages of Global governance: Reducing inequality Eliminating currency risk Protecting the Environment Fixing Taxation Curbing the power of Multinationals Ensuring a fair response to crises Solving the Migration problems The pandemic as a trigger to change. What is a Multilateral Organization: They are formed by three or more nations to work on issues that are relevant to each of them. They ensure participation by all in the management of world affairs while ensuring the legitimacy of any relief effects being implemented. Role of multinational institutions: Facilitate linkages to government and can catalyse, through their normative role Development of guidelines and standards to support health actors To advance social innovations and integrate research in their process. Globalization and Environmental Risk and resilience:> Friendly technologies and practices Reduce pollution in developing countries through importing greener technologies Developing better environmental regulation and standards. Its negative effect is that it will force poorer countries of the world to do whatever the big developed countries tell them to do. Five Gaps of Global Governance: 1. Normative gaps – emergence between the goals of the policy makers and the objection of the economic designs. 2. Knowledge gaps – refers to a disparity in access to information and tools by the poor in accessing, recognizing, and promotingthe creativity of developing world. 3. Incentive Gaps – is between the need for international cooperation and the motivation to undertake it. 4. Governance gap – is where the transnational companies (TNC) operates in states that can not or will not fulfill their obligation to protect the rights of there own citizens. 5. Institutional gaps – include holes in the law (codified Law) and norms. > It is the gap that concerns us in the weakness in the current structures for coordinating state decision-making and actions.
