The old methods of leading a child to Christ is okay, but a touch of technology is better. WOFAK Let us consider the following digital and modern CONSULTS method:  Digital Evangelism in Children’s Ministry is the process of using modern technology and approach to convince children to accept Jesus Christ and grow up with him. The following are the approaches that can be used to lead a child to Christ. Video Crusade  Sunday School Day Out  Bible Slide Show Weekend Talent Clubs Sunday Beverage packages Visitation and Phone check -ups Welfare package Sharing Children’s Event on Social Media platforms WOFAK CONSULTS DE1: VIDEO CRUSADE: This is an outreach or open air crusade by children service members and teachers targeting children at populated or at a vantage community. The main purpose of this crusade to win the souls of children living at the community through Child-based activities Since it is a video show, use varieties of short WOFAK CONSULTS DE1: VIDEO CRUSADE: It is an out-door event, so we are suggesting the following tips to help in your planning: 1. Proposed Day : Friday, Saturday or Holiday is okay (you can also do a 2-Days Crusade) 2. Starting Time: All setups must be done by 3pm on the event day. From 4pm, you can start playing Sunday school music or tunes and announcing your presence to create awareness. Exactly 4:30pm, start your Welcome Activities(at this time majority of the children in The Approach: - 4 months proposed date scheduled is okay to start planning. - Prayer Sessions / Fasting by teachers must begin before the proposed date. - Children Service members must also pray periodically on Sunday towards the Crusade. - After 1 month of intensive prayers, confirm the location or target group or area. - Arrange a meeting with Agent in charge and Session reps, discuss the proposed event with them.... PRAISE TEAM BY CHILDREN SERVICE: Select children who can sing and worship in front of large congregation. Children’s Hymns and Adults Hymns must be part of songs for the upcoming program. Regular rehearsal is a must. If teachers are not in the capacity to coach them. Get help from JY or the Main Praise team in the Church to mentor them for the Crusade. CHOREOGRAPHY TEAM: Since it is an outreach, make a slot for dancing performance on that day. Most children love to dance. So a teacher(s) must be assigned or get trainer to help. WOFAK CONSULTS THE MESSAGE: This is where you prepare 2 or 3 children who can preach the Message of Salvation. This role needs constant prayers  THE ACTION PLAN IN FOCUS: VIDEO SELECTION: Do a thorough search for the movies or videos that you want show that day. The Committee must watch and vet all selected videos. Video areas can includes: - Funny Cartoon - Academic - Moral Lesson - Health Issues - Salvation THE PROPOSED BUDGET: The Committee must come out with a proposed budget or the Executives of the fellowship must draft a budget for the Crusade. Gideon International Pocket Bible & Bible tracts CONSULTS REMINDER:  Video recording of a good performance by the children service can be shared on social media platforms as part of the Digital Evangelism.  Get a Camera with better resolution, capture short scenes of the children in action on stage or at any Christian platforms. The Children Service can watch it later, use as Teaching Aids and can also be posted online to touch the heart of others.  Snacks and Verbal motivations must be regular at rehearsals and other children gathering.  Not all teachers in your locality have the capacity to organize such massive event, so if you really wish to embark on this method, consults with other groups or leaders in the Church to assist or collaborate. SUNDAY SCHOOL DAY OUT: INTRODUCTION: (FREE TRIP) When was the last time, you took your Sunday School children for a camp, trip or an excursion? - Where did you go ? - How many children from your roll attended? - Was it sponsored or self payment? - What was your challenges in planning such event? - What were some of the feedback from the children after the event? I want 3 participants to share their experiences (you have 3 mins) DE2: SUNDAY SCHOOL DAY OUT: Children love to go on trip or excursion. So the mere fact of organizing free(FREE trip forTRIP) them will boost a high number in attendance. This can be a annual or quarterly Sunday School trip for the children where they must invite 2 of their friend or neighbour to join. The purpose is to share Christ to them through series of outdoor activities. WOFAK To simplify matters, Flower Service on our special CONSULTS programs outline can be used as Sunday School  The Approach Staying at one place for long time is boring, and children love to explore so organizing a Sunday School Outdoor will be good for the ministry. This can be an effective follow – up on the Operation Philip (OP) that is; allowing children who took part in the OP to invite 2 children from their list to join the free trip. This is a Sunday School Service on a different level, so plan a bible base fun activities for the children. WOFAK CONSULTS  The Approach continuous….  The Children’s Service Teachers must search for an educative Scenery sites for this event.  The Event should be planned well to create a lasting memory for the children.  The trip activities should be centered on JESUS or Bible lessons.  This should be totally free for all children who comes to register. WOFAK CONSULTS  ACTION PLAN  The Children’s Service Teachers must conduct prayer sessions days before the event is presented to the session for approval.  A proposed program with budget must be presented to the Agent in charge or Session as soon after effective prayer meetings.  The Church must provide all necessary financial Support for the trip. So start lobbying through the Session Reps.  Patrons and lovers of the Children’s Ministry must be WOFAK CONSULTS contacted to help In Cash and In Kind.  ACTION PLAN continuous….  A Special Appeal must be done periodically to get help in Kind or Cash towards this event.  The Teachers must start planning the free trip early to make it an effective event.  The Activities line up for the Sunday School Day- Out must be announced early so that the children can prepare and play active roles. WOFAK CONSULTS  ACTION PLAN continuous….  The teachers must announce to children to invite 2 children from their OP List to attend this trip.  Make sure proper invitation are sent to the guardians of the new children to join the trip.  Free Food must be shared to the Children by the Church.  The Session Representatives must WOFAK CONSULTS accompany the ministry on this free trip. DE3: BIBLE SLIDE SHOW Introduction:  Do you have pictures of CS@100 activities from your local?  Do you have pictures of 2023 Children Week Celebration?  Do you have pictures of an outdoor Flower Service?  Do you have pictures of 2018 Akuapem Presbytery Kids Camp?  Do you have pictures downloaded which you have used as Teaching Aids (TA) for Block Lesson. E.g. GOD PROVIDES FOR HIS PEOPLE (Moses/ Israelites journey from Egypt to the promise land) ? WOFAK CONSULTS If you have access to all these data (images), then creating a slide show is easy. DE3: BIBLE SLIDE SHOW This is a compilation of pictures in roll for the lesson presentation whenever possible. It can also be called Image lesson presentation where a story or lesson is taught through picture show. For this approach to be very effective, the teacher must plan well enough to create this image document. The Bible Slide Show can also be compilation WOFAK of pictures taking by ourselves with our smart CONSULTS THE APPROACH Since it is about pictures, the teachers must know the bible lesson plan and the source of images for the slide document. A bible lesson plan is a decision note that shows the particular lesson(s) or bible story that you intend to create a slide for. Pinterest to search and download all the pictures needed.  Use any of the Photo Edit Apps on your smart phone to create your slide document. After compiling and editing your slide, save it as PDF  When you save as PDF, it can be easily opened and ready for use on any screen viewing platform such as Projector, TV, Tablets, Smart phone………  If you took the pictures with your phone camera, then you are good to go, starting creating your slides. The more children are interested in what you are mentoring them, they become glued to you and start following your shadows. When this happens, Leading to them to Christ becomes so easy. Our regular Sunday School contact hours is not enough to implement modern approaches of Sharing Christ. Hence the need to create more avenues to bring WOFAK CONSULTS children closer to Christ. As matter of fact, creating avenue such as Brigade, Talent Clubs, Bible Clubs etc…. are in the right direction in this modern era. DE4: WEEKEND TALENT CLUBS: The Talent Club is the gathering children in the house of God on any day and at convenient time frame, helping them to identify and nurture their in-born gifts, special skills.  This must be organized well with the full permission and financial support of the Session.  Example of Talent Club looks like the Brigade but opened to non –church members (That is, every child can join whether she/he is a church member or not) WOFAK  Meeting can be every fortnight or Weekly on Saturdays, and CONSULTS during school break to have long meeting hours. Weekend Talent Club(in focus): Resource Personnel (Devoted Teachers/ Volunteers/ Hired Expert) must prepare and be ready to coach the children in the following sectors.  Choreography  Musical Instruments  Acting  Preaching / Public Speaking  Computer Skills (Graphic Design, Coding, Networking, Robotics, etc.)  Fashion Art (Modern Clothing Accessories………….….)  Creative Art (Appropriate Tech, Doing It Yourself – DIY )  Agro-preneurship Skills (Snails farm, Fish farm, Home WOFAK Vegetable Garden, etc ) CONSULTS THE APPROACH:  Feasibility studies must be done in your local to determine the club sectors that can easily be implemented for the benefit of the children.  After choosing the club sectors that can work in your local, draft proposed action plan and present your plan with budget to the session.   The Action Plan is the blueprint of the effective running of the talent clubs.  Syllabus must be drafted to suit the contact hours.  Time table must be drawn for effective use.  Publicity must done at CS, Church, and within the community WOFAK CONSULTS regularly to create awareness to parents and guardians.  DRAFTING AN ACTION PLAN FOR WEEKEND TALENT CLUB The following are points to consider when drafting an effective action plan for the talent club.  Talent Clubs that can be established ?  Resource Personnel / Experts needed.  Equipment / Gadgets / Materials / Building Facilities needed.  Source of Funding: Church Funding / Sponsorship package from Parents and Child Lovers.  Courses / Subjects to be treated under each sector.  How many hours per meeting (Starting time and Closing time)?  How many times per month will there be club meeting?  Registration Form (to be endorse by parents or guardians)  Rules / Regulations to be observed by Club members (Instructor/Expert/Child) WOFAK  Timetable for the Talent Club CONSULTS DE5: SUNDAYS BEVERAGE PACKAGE Introduction: The Gospel according to Luke chapter 9, After Jesus sharing the word with the people, he asked his disciples to get food for the people to eat,…..…………. he blessed the food and everybody get fed and there were leftovers. This method of sharing beverages to church attendees has been there since the New Testament era, but there is need to modernized and intensify the approach because it can really boost the number on roll. The effective use of this approach has a great impacts on the lives of the beneficiary, that is why the former Moderator of the General Assembly of PCG – Rt. Rev. Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante in 2021 directed all agents in the church to serve Sundays beverages package to children service members on every Sunday/every 2 weeks/ once a month depending on their financial capacity. WOFAK CONSULTS Experience has shown that when there are regular free meal at children gathering, the roll call increases, as long as you have the numbers, you have  DE5: SUNDAYS BEVERAGE PACKAGE Let us answer this question: When was the last time, the session of your church organized a beverage package for the children service? This package can also be called Tea Party, Porridge Party, Drink Party, etc….  This party can be conducted every Sunday or every two weeks or monthly.  All Agents in Charge are aware of this directive, starting lobbying to get it sustain in your local.  The motive is to offer a meal to children so that they can joyfully worship God on Sundays.  Another motive is to boost the number on roll so that more children can attend Church.  There is must be a varieties in the package to balance costing. WOFAK CONSULTS  A menu table can be drafted for a month or 2 months or 3 months.  The following meal can be added to the menu to make the cost beneficial : SUSTAINING THE BEVERAGE PACKAGES Even though is the directives from the Moderator is still active till Judgment day, organizing one time beverage party or sustaining it regularly is a big challenge in some locals. It is vital for us, as teachers or children lovers to come up simple action plan to sustain this party on every Sunday or every 2 weeks or monthly.  The CST must conduct intensive prayers for guidance and direction of the Holy Spirit to make this project work in his/her local..  A detailed discussion must go on with the session reps to know the sponsorship from Session and the way forward of this project.  The Church must do regular appeal on Sundays in cash or in kind to support this project.  The Agent/ Session Reps/ CST must draft an affordable menu for 1 WOFAK CONSULTS or 2 months or 3 months. SUSTAINING THE BEVERAGE PACKAGES………..  Patrons/ Parents/ Teachers/ Kids Lovers must be approached and appealed to support in cash or in kind. Supporting in Kind means providing free cooking / beverage items / materials needed. This approach will free the financial pressure on the Church so as to sustain the project.  Typical example or roadmap can be: The Session sponsor this week’s package, then 5 parents can decide to sponsor the next package, then another group(teachers or patrons) also prepare to sponsor the next beverage, then next sponsors can be either individual or groups in the church. And this continuous in a rotation order or reshuffle of sponsors. The CST must contact whom ever they want as a sponsor and do special appeal or lobby to join the project.  As long as items and funds are available, a working sponsorship timetable must drafted and shared to all respective sponsors to be informed and prepare ahead of time. DE6: VISITATION AND PHONE CHECK- UPS Question: 1. Do we really do checking – up of our children service members? 2. Mention one modern way that you have adopted in checking-up of the children on roll at your local? DE6: VISITATION AND PHONE CHECK- UPS THE MODERN TREND:  The use of phone to share Christ to others is very easy now due to the advancement of technology.  Some Churches and other groups are doing service online through their smart devices, checking up on their members through the use of the internet.  Having Conference and other meetings on the internet.  The Children Service Teacher and Ministry can also reached out the saved and unsaved child through internet with the use our simple applications on our smart phones. DE6: VISITATION AND PHONE CHECK- UPS……… Regular Visitation and Checking up of the children is part of Evangelism. Lucky for us, this can be easily by done by virtual means that is using technology. CST can easily visit his/her Sunday school members virtually. The Virtual visitation and check-ups has more advantage than using the normal or in person approach. The Question is – How do you virtually visit a child at his/her home? DE6: VISITATION AND PHONE CHECK-UPS……… How to do an effective virtual visitation of a child at his/her home?  Have an active Roll book.  Adopt a phone contact saving formula on your smart phone. Eg. For Primary Class: from the roll book, save the child name against his or her parent contact then add PP (if Mary Oteng is in your class, it will be saved as Mary Oteng PP ) P for Parent, the next P for Primary. If you teaches Junior Class also, child contact details on your phone can be saved as Ofosu Kwabena Agyei PJ, that is P for Parent, J for Junior For Beginners Class, you have a child contact details on you phone saved as Joyce Kumi Addobea PB, that is P for Parent, B for Beginners This formula assist you to differentiate between names and for easy searching. That is the moment you type PB on the contact section of your phone, All PB will appear in line. How to do an effective virtual visitation of a child at his/her home? Continuous…………….  Now you have saved your class members contact on your phone, do this survey to confirm all have been saved. --- Go to your smart phone contact section, type PP, by now all contact saved with PP will appear, the same goes for PJ and PB  Now you can make easy do a Call check-up on your class.  Open Whatsapp, go to setting and tap on New Broadcast and create a broadcast for your class and save it with your Class name. --- The Broadcast allows you send messages at once to all, make a conference audio or video call with your class. Since the contact numbers are for the parents, send an introduction message on the broadcast for them to know the purpose. So that a good rapport can be established. How to do an effective virtual visitation of a child at his/her home? Continuous……………..…..…….  The introduction message on the broadcast serves as rapport for you and parents, henceforth any message or call from you, will be treated highly.  Whatsapp broadcast is very affordable and easy to use as long as you have a smart phone. Now, you can send vital biblical children information on the broadcast to the children and nothing else. Please respect the broadcast as a CST.  As you send vital info to your children and checking–up on them regularly, you are building a godly trust with the parents, and at this stage, most parents will open up about their child life at home and at school, and will call up for guidance and counseling so get ready.  This is simple way of virtually visiting or doing online check-up on class members which has a long last benefits to the Ministry. QUICK REMINDER: BIBLE CLUB HAS BEEN LAUNCHED IN PCG. At the just ended 23rd General Assembly in August, 2023 at Abetifi-Kwahu, the BIBLE CLUB for Children Service and Junior Youth was duly launched by the Moderator. This pursuant is line with one of the objective of Children Service Policy “ THE UNSAVED CHILD IS WON FOR CHRIST” and to achieve this objective, the church has come out with this strategic, that is formation of Bible Clubs in all Congregation/ Communities. It is imperative that all Agents in charge pursue this directive (practically, we as CST must take this mandate) and ensure that it is fully sustained in Jesus name!!!
