Con Arts **The Nature of Art** - It is a concept which basically provides color and substance to our everyday existence as humans. **Art** - Is a tangible manifestation and product of a human activity that allows the expression of individuality through a set of skills. **Elements of Art** - they are what you use to create an aesthetically pleasing work. **Lines** - are identifiable paths created by a point moving in space. (One-dimensional) **Shape** - is where a line crosses over that creates a shape. It produces images in a flat area according to how reality is represented. (Two-dimensional) **Geometric Shape** - Basic shapes (ex. Circle & square) **Organic Shape** - Walang definite shape na sinusundan. (ex. Flower & tree) **Form** - includes shape and perceived volume. (Three-dimensional) **Color** - It is derived from the reflected or absorbed light and definitely creates the mood of the artist. **Texture** - denotes the smoothness, and ruggedness of the image or object. **Space** - may include the foreground, middle ground, background, and area between the images or objects which may be negative or positive. **Contemporary Arts** - Is the art of the present, which is continuously in process. **FORMS OF CONTEMPORARY ARTS** 1. **Visual Arts** - this is the art that appeals to the visual sense and may be constructed using varied mediums. - - - - - - 2. **Literary Arts** - represents a collection of writings that represents not only emotions but history, and culture that surpasses time and space. 3. **Performing Arts** -- the art that involves creative activity that is performed and delivered in front of spectators. - - - - **PRINCIPLES OF CONTEMPORARY ART** **Balance** -- known a physical equilibrium, balance is stability produced by even distribution of weight on each side of the thing. - - **Rhythm** -- is to create a movement or pattern, using one or more art elements like line, color, texture, space, shape, form, and value, and it guides the viewer's eye from one part of the artwork to another. **Proportion** -- It is the relationship in terms of size between one shape or form when compared with another shape or form in the Art Space. **Emphasis** -- giving proper importance on one or more parts of the or the whole thing itself. It is achieved by means of size. **ELEMENTS OF CONTEMPORARY ART** **Appropriation** - Is the use of pre-existing objects or images with little or no transformation applied to them.
