CLE REVIEWER ➔ We are the Bearer of Good News ▸ You are called to become a missionary disciple. ↪ Encounter with God’s love (EG 8-9) : ▸ We are liberated from our narrowness and self-absorption. ▸ We become fully human when we become more than a human. ↪ Goodness takes root and develops (EG 8-9) : ▸ Very authentic experiences of truth and goodness seeks its very nature to grow within us. ▸ Profound liberation experiences becomes more sensitive to the needs of others. ▸ We have to reach out to others and seek their good. ↪ EG 113 : ▸ The salvation which God has wrought, and the church joyfully proclaims, is for everyone. ▸ No one is saved by himself or herself, individually, or by his or her own efforts. ➔ Christian Eschatology; Hope and New Beginnings ↪ The parable teaches us : ▸ The reality of coexistence of good and evil in the world. ▸ Exercise patience and right judgment. ▸ Practice wisdom of discernment. ▸ Prepare for the end-time judgment. ↪ Eschatology: ▸ From the greek work “eschatos” meaning last/final and “logos” meaning study/discourse. ▸ Fulfillment of divine purposes, the ultimate victory of good over evil, the resurrection of the dead, and the judgment of all souls. ▸ Includes beliefs about the end times, the return of Christ, the resurrection of the dead, the final judgment, and the hope of eternal life. ↪ The return of Christ (Parousia) : ▸ We believe in the second return of Christ. ▸ Signifies the fulfillment of God’s plan for salvation and the establishment of his kingdom in its fullness. ↪ The resurrection of the dead : ▸ At the Parousia, the dead will rise with glorified bodies, reunited with their souls and will be judged according to their deeds. ↪ The final judgment : ▸ Jesus Christ will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead. all people will be held liable for their actions and their response to God’s grace. ↪ The hope to eternal life : ▸ Its not simply an extension of earthly existence but sharing in the joy and communion of God’s presence. ↪ The renewal of creation : ▸ where God will make all things new and bring about to fullness of his kingdom. ↪ Our hope in Christian eschatology : ↪ We hope in resurrection : ▸ this belief offers comfort in the face of death and suffering. ↪ A future where God creates a new heaven and earth : ▸ his hopes inspire perseverance through present challenges. ↪ Looking forward to the return of Christ : ▸ this hope motives us, the faithful, and shares the message of salvation. ↪ Offers the hope of eternal life with God, bringing immense joy and fulfillment. ▸ it sustains us, strengthens our faith. and fosters a life filled with joyful anticipation. ↪ Critical thinking in making decisions : ↪ Critical thinking ▸ Essential in making informed and effective life decisions because it allows you to analyze situations, evaluate options, and make reasoned choices. ▸ Applying critical thinking is a fundamental skill that would enable you to navigate life’s challenges, make informed choices, and pursue your goals with confidence and charity. ↪ Enhancing problem-solving skills : ▸ helps you identify and define problems, analyze their underlying causes, and develop effective solutions. ↪ Avoid impulsive decisions : ▸ encourages you to pause and reflect before making decisions, rather than acting thoughtlessly based on emotions or shallow judgments. ↪ Evaluating information and evidence : ▸ by critically assessing information, you can distinguish between facts and opinions, you can identify biases and make well-informed decisions. ↪ Improving decision quality : ▸ you can weight the pros and cons of different options, you can also anticipate different outcomes, and choose the most favorable course of action. ↪ Enhancing communication and collaboration : ▸ encourages you to be open-minded, be an active listener, and showing respectful dialogue when discussing complex issues with others. ➔ Decision with Purpose ↪ Humility : ▸ show a realistic appreciation of strengths and an honest acknowledgement of weakness. ↪ short list of occupations categorized by primary intelligence : ▸ Linguistic - librarian, writer, speech pathologist, etc. ▸ Logical-Mathematical - accountant, mathematician, scientist, etc. ▸ Spatial - engineer, architect, graphic artist, etc. ▸ Bodily-Kinesthetics - physical therapist, dancer, actor, etc. ▸ Musical - musician, pianist, conductor, etc. ▸ Interpersonal - manager, nurse, teacher, etc. ▸ Intrapersonal - therapist, entrepreneur, psychologist, etc. ▸ Naturalist - astronomer, geologist, chef, etc. ↪ What is senior high school? (SHS) : ▸ refers to the last two years of the k-12 program. ▸ students will go through a core curriculum and subjects under their track of choices. ▸ additional two years will equip learners with skills that will better prepare them. ▸ it is necessary because the law prescribes that shs is a part of compulsory basic education. ▸ technically, you can not want to go to shs as it is your choice, but you wont get a high school diploma. you will be called a grade10 completer, but will miss out n the benefits of a full hs graduate. ▸ shs is the key to: (+ middle skill development) ▸ Employment - learners are more prepared for work. ▸ Entrepreneurship - you will be equipped with skills to start your own business. ▸ Higher education - core subjects has been integrated with shs meaning less repetition, the subjects you will take in college will be more focused and more relevant to you chosen course. ↪ The 4 tracks : ↪ Academic track : ▸ Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) - to take up business-related courses in a higher education or engage in business, entrepreneurship or other business-related courses. ▸ Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) - for those who are inclined towards or have a aptitude for math, science or engineering. ▸ Humanities and Social Studies (HUMSS) - for those who intend to pursue these fields at the uni level. ▸ General Academic (GA) strand - for those who have not yet decided on a particular specialization. ↪ Technical Vocational Livelihood : ▸ Agri-Fishery Arts, Home Economics (HE), Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Industrial Arts. ↪ Arts and Design : ▸ Theater, Music, Dance, Creative Writing, Visual Arts, Media Arts. ▸ for those who have an aptitude for arts and its forms. ↪ Sports track : ▸ athlete development, fitness training, coaching, officiating.
