Sleeved and legged clothing are mandatory. Shoes with solid bottom, and non-porous uppers are recommended. Consumption of food or beverage is not permitted in the laboratory. Only authorized materials needed for the experiment should be present in the work area. Lamar University Safety Regulations Do not dispose of any materials without instruction. Never place materials in unmarked containers. Know the location of nearest fire extinguisher, eyewash and safety shower before beginning an experiment. In the event of a fire, hazardous chemical spill or accident, immediately notify to instructor. Be prepared to shut down your Lamar University Safety Regulations Never perform any experiment or modify any experiment without the instructor’s consent. Avoid distracting other workers. Jokes, horseplay, and running often lead to accidents and will not be tolerated. Laboratory apparatus, glassware and/or chemicals may not be removed from the Chemistry building. Wash your hands with soap and water Lamar University MSDS MSDS – Material Safety Data Sheets The MSDS gives safety, health, hazard, toxicity, and other related information on chemicals that you will be using in the lab. MSDS’s for all chemicals are located in a filing cabinet in the middle hallway (at the bend) on the first floor of the chemistry building or online Lamar University Safety Labels Lamar University
