It originates from plants or animals and can either be consumed in its natural form or processed in factories. 2. Importance of Food:  Role: Food is essential for your body as it supports growth, organ development, and overall maintenance of life. The energy derived from food is measured in kilocalories (Kcal), which fuel your body's functions and activities. 3.
