CEREBRUM presented by Lalita choudhary B.Sc. nursing Sem.-1 president nursing college CEREBRUM(Telencephalon) Introduction: The principal, largest and most anterior part of the brain.(Accompnany 2/3 of total weight of brain) Location: Located in front area of skull and top of brain stem. Lie in anterior and middle cranial fossae. Functions of cerebrum: Performs higher functions- Interpreting touch vision and hearing speech resoning emotions learning and fine control and movement. Frontal view of cerebrum: Cerebrum is divided into two C-shaped cerebral hemisphere by Longitudinal fissure (deep groove), Lying within it is a continuation of dura matter falx cerebri. cerebrum Outer cerebral cortex inner core Composed of nerve Deepr, Composed of cell bodies (gray matter) nerve fibres i.e axons (white matter) ~A thick band of white matter Corpus callosum connects two hemisphere. Gyri and Sulci: The surface of cerebral cortex infolds to create Gyri (ridges) & Sulci (fissures). Sulci surrounds a gyrus, creating folds. Function- Increase the surface area of cerebram. Lobes of cerebram: Cerebral cortex is divided into 4 Lobes by this Sulci and Gyri. 1. Frontal Lobe 2. Parietal Lobe 3. Temporal Lobe 4. Occipital Lobe Assignment Q. How is the Cerebram divided?
