Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani-K. K. Birla Goa Campus First Semester 2023-2024 No. of Questions:4 BITS F110 Engineering Graphics Comprehensive Examination (Closed Book) DATE: 16/12/2023 Time: 90 Min Maximum Marks: 80 Instructions:  Save the file and rename with your 13 digit Student ID number.  All the drawings should be made in the given single file alone, within the space provided for each question. Sufficient space is provided to draw the views.  Save your drawing after every 5 minutes. Loss of data will not be compensated  Construction lines should be trimmed neatly for the entire drawings or converted to ‘color 251’.  Colour code other than use of ‘ByLayer’ for final drawings: o Yellow for true length in projection of line o ‘Red’ for hidden lines o ‘Green’ for section plane for section of solid problem o ‘color 251’ for construction lines  Do not show dimensions in the drawings  Correct labeling is must wherever applicable  If required change snap to 0.125. Do not change the grid spacing  Use zoom, when necessary. Q. 1 Line AB 200mm long makes 45o inclination with VP while it’s FV makes 60o. End A is 25 mm above HP and 50mm in front of VP. If line is in 1st quadrant, draw its projections and find its inclination with HP. Consider one grid spacing = 25 mm. (Retain the construction lines with color 251). Q. 2 A pentagonal plate with edge length 100 mm is having one of its edges in VP. The plate is inclined 50 o to VP and the edge in VP is inclined 75o to HP. Draw the projections of the plate. Also, find out the surface inclination of the plate with HP. (Use 1st angle method of projection. Retain the construction lines with color 251). Q3 A cylinder of diameter 100 mm and height 112.5 mm is lying on ground on its circumferential base point with base inclined at 56 degree to ground with its axis tilted towards right and parallel to the VP. A horizontal cutting plane bisects the cylinder axis. Draw the sectional top view of the solid. Use 12 generators for the cylinder. (Use 3rd angle method of projection. Retain the construction lines with color 251). Q4 A pentagonal pyramid of 75 mm side and 100 mm height is resting on its base on ground with one of its base edges parallel to VP and nearer to the observer. An equilateral triangular hole with side 25 mm is cut through it with one of the rectangular faces of the hole parallel to and 12.5 mm above the ground with axis of the hole intersecting the axis of the solid and perpendicular to VP. Draw the hole profile in top view and front view. Also, draw the development of the lateral surfaces of the solid along with the hole profile starting from the left slant edge of the slant face nearest to the observer in the CCW direction. (Use 3rd angle method of projection. Retain the construction lines with color 251).
