Communication is the practical Form of Scientific knowledge or the science of application of knowledge to practical Importance of ICT Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has revolutionized education and data management, bringing numerous benefits that enhance learning experiences. It extends learning opportunities, allowing individuals to access resources anytime and anywhere, which is particularly beneficial for those with diverse schedules. By making learning more engaging and enjoyable, ICT employs interactive tools that cater to various learning styles, ensuring that content is not only informative but also captivating. Additionally, it promotes a uniform quality of content, enabling learners to receive consistent information across different platforms, while also improving presentation standards through advanced multimedia capabilities. Furthermore, ICT plays a pivotal role in transforming how we work and access information, streamlining processes such as data collection and online file transfer. With e-learning as a prime example, web-enabled technology facilitates a dynamic learning environment where information is processed in digital formats, ensuring increased efficiency and accessibility. Thus, ICT stands as a cornerstone of modern education and information management, reshaping how we engage with knowledge in our daily lives. COMPONENTS OF ICT ▪ DATA- Is the raw material of any ICT system and this is processed by the system to provide the ▪ HARDWARE- These are the physical components that make up the ICT system. If you can touch it then it is a hardware. (tangible components) ▪ SOFTWARE- These are the computer programs which provide step by step information to the hardware. (nontangible components) ▪ INFORMATION- The results from processing data. It is the output of an ICT system. ▪ PROCEDURES- These are series of actions conducted in a specific order to make sure that the system runs smoothly. ▪ PEOPLE- Are needed to supply data to the ICT system and also to make judgements and decisions from the output supplied from the system MODULE 2 IMPORTANCE OF ICT IN PHILIPPINE SOCIETY Archipelagic country- improves connectivity: there was the ultimate belief that ICT usage will make each country to become part of the global trend, Web 3.0. Improve productivity and efficiency; the most appropriate technologies were seen as the ones that enabled the communities and organizations to communicate more efficiently Key Features of ICT Systems 1. Digital Interconnectedness:- Facilitates seamless communication between devices and platforms. 2. Adaptability: Allows systems to adjust to evolving user needs and technological advancements.Promotes continuous improvement and innovation in response to feedback. 3. Reliability: Ensures consistent performance and availability of services. 4. Processing: Refers to the function of handling and manipulating data within the system. Online System Functions- It make easier for users to interact, to collect, and use the data from the users interactions for their own particular needs. It is a software system that is designed to search for information on the World Wide Web. The informations may be mix of webpages, images, and other types of files 1.
