Day 1: Doing this will help prevent many diseases that can be transferred during conception. Also, if the ewe to which it needs to be bred is too far away, using AI can save time and the expense of transporting the Ram. With the genetic process, the semen is taken from the Ram and put into the Ewe and is surgically done doing laparoscopy. Doing this you can have the desired traits and genetics you want for that offspring and this can be done with one Ram and used on many Ewes without ever having the Ram be in-person. Kinda like I said with AI you can help improve the genetic makeup of certain offspring and not have the risk of disease being put on and having an animal die. Sometimes though AI’ing could not work and the Ewe could not conceive and you need to have a follow-up Ram if this is to be the case.
