What is Creative Writing? Also known as “the art of making things up” is considered to be any fiction, poetry, or non-fiction that goes outside the bounds of normal academic and technical forms of literature. Original and self-expressive of feelings and thoughts which makes use of your imagination The Purpose To entertain, educate, and share human experiences like love and loss in a creative and different way. e.g.; The Lorax Twilight Frozen Biographies, autobiographies, and memoirs.... Travel guides and travelogues Works which fall into this category include novels, epics, short stories, poems, screenwriting (movies and television scripts) and playwriting (stage plays), songs, memoirs, personal essay or speeches. Some non-fiction types of writing are considered creative writing like memoirs, personal essay or speeches, and short stories and novels because they can be written creatively to tell stories of your life or other people. In technical writing, the specialized vocabulary like scientific terms and others are used while in creative writing, one can go with slang or evocative phrases.
