Emotional Labor** * Activism is attributed to effort, but with the burden of knowing that research on activist burnout is limited or not sufficient. * Activists spend their own time. * Pressure to spend time and energy * Struggle with slowness of change within society (reluctancy to contribute to the cause). * Feelings of isolation. **3. Conflicts and Unhealthy Conditions Within Activist Communities** * Infighting: Disagreements among group members (ego clashes/competition for recognition/minority competitions). * Criticism of methods and generational conflicts. * The thought of failing people of color and justice work. * Burden of being an educator, feeling the need to correct peers on racial issues, and carrying a very heavy load.
