The experts in physics study many things such as gravity, light, and time. These experts are called physicists. Albert Einstein became one of the famous physicists because of his Theory of Relativity. 2. **Chemistry** It is the science that deals with the compositions, properties, reactions, and structures of matter. Louis Pasteur, a chemist, discovered pasteurization, which is now used in the food industry. Pasteurization is the process of heating liquids such as milk and orange juice to kill germs. 3. **Astronomy** It is the study of the universe beyond Earth's atmosphere. ## The Earth Sciences 1. **Geology** It is the science of the origin, history, and structure of Earth, and the physical, chemical, and biological changes that take place on it. 2. **Oceanography** It is the exploration and study of the ocean. 3. **Paleontology** It is the science of the forms of life that existed in prehistoric or geologic periods. 4. **Meteorology** It is the science that deals with the atmosphere and its phenomena such as weather and climate.
