Here is an example from a plant: ``` Cells --> Tissues --> Organs --> Organ Systems --> Organisms ``` **Palisade Cells:** A type of plant cell. **Palisade Tissue:** A tissue made of palisade cells. **Leaf:** An organ made of various tissues. **Shoot System:** An organ system made up of leaves and other plant organs. # Stuff Moves Into and Out of Cells by Diffusion 1. Cells need **glucose** and **oxygen** to survive and remove waste products like **carbon dioxide**. 2. Materials move in/out of cells by **diffusion**. 3. Diffusion is the movement of a substance from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration.
