The fox spoke in a voice filled with false tenderness, "From today, friendship and peace will prevail amongst us. The lion, king of the jungle, declared it. Come down so I can greet you." The rooster replied, "Certainly, I see a dog approaching from afar; I think it heard the news and wants to join us today. Wait a moment till it arrives." The fox ran away, scared and disheartened by the approaching dog. The fox said, "We will celebrate again next time, if there's any time left." The rooster laughed at the fox's trickery and mocked the cunning fox.
