# Regulation for the operation of drones at DTU ### § 1 Scope and purpose This regulation applies to all drone flights at DTU, including flights for research, education, and leisure. The purpose of the regulation is to ensure safe and responsible drone operation, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. ### § 2 Definitions Drone: Any unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operated remotely. Operator: The person responsible for the drone flight. DTU area: All land, buildings, and facilities owned or managed by DTU. ### § 3 General requirements - All drone flights at DTU must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including the Danish Aviation Act and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) regulations. - The operator is responsible for obtaining all necessary permits and approvals before the flight. - The operator must have a valid drone pilot license if required by law. - The drone must be insured in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. - The operator must conduct a risk assessment before each flight and take necessary precautions to minimize risks. - Drone flights are not allowed over areas with a high concentration of people, buildings, or other sensitive infrastructure, unless specifically approved. - The operator must respect the privacy of individuals and avoid filming or photographing people without their consent. - Drone flights must not interfere with DTU's activities or endanger people, property, or the environment. ### § 4 Specific requirements - Drone flights for research or education purposes must be approved by the relevant DTU department or center. - The application for approval must include a description of the purpose of the flight, the drone type, the operator's qualifications, the flight plan, and the risk assessment. - Drone flights for leisure purposes are only allowed in designated areas and with the permission of DTU's security service. - Drone flights are not allowed at night or in adverse weather conditions, unless specifically approved. - The operator must maintain a logbook of all drone flights, including the date, time, location, flight duration, and any incidents or observations. ### § 5 Enforcement - Violations of this regulation may result in sanctions, including warnings, fines, or suspension of drone flight privileges. - DTU's security service is authorized to enforce this regulation and to stop drone flights that violate the regulation. - DTU may report violations of applicable laws and regulations to the relevant authorities. ### § 6 Amendments DTU may amend this regulation at any time.
