PASCO SHERIFF’S OFFICE LAW ENFORCEMENT DIRECTIVE TITLE: COMMAND STAFF NOTIFICATION DIRECTIVE: LED 650.1 EFFECTIVE: JANUARY 5, 2018 SUPERCEDES: MARCH 7, 2016 ACCREDITATION STANDARDS: NONE PAGES: 2 CONTENTS: This order consists of the following numbered sections: I. CRIMINAL CALLS II. OTHER CALLS III. GLOSSARY PURPOSE: To establish guidelines for the notification of the Command Staff when certain events take place. SCOPE: This directive applies to all Field Operations Bureau supervisors. POLICY: It is imperative that when certain events or circumstances occur the Command Staff be made aware to ensure accountability and a proper response. The Command Staff will be notified immediately on the events listed in this Bureau Directive. PROCEDURE: The Shift Commander (Lieutenant or Sergeant acting in that capacity) will notify the appropriate District Commander (Captain) when one of the following calls takes place: I. CRIMINAL CALLS: A. Homicide B. Shooting of a person with serious injury C. Home Invasion D. Car Jacking January 5, 2018 1 LED 650.1 E. Drive By Shooting F. Attempted or Actual Kidnapping/Abductions G. Bomb Threats II. OTHER CALLS: A. SWAT Call Outs B. Hazmat Situation C. Any serious illness/injury/accident to a Sheriff’s Office Member (on or off duty) D. Missing Child under twelve (12) years of age E. Missing Endangered Adult requiring a search F. School Bus Accident (children on board) G. Any complaint involving a VIP as a complainant/subject/suspect H. Any unusual major occurrence (downed aircraft, critical incident, etc.) I. Anytime an agency member is a victim or suspect of an investigation. III. GLOSSARY COMMAND STAFF – The Sheriff, Undersheriff, Bureau Commanders, and Division Commanders.
