ARTICLE 5.6 GEOGRAPHIC PATROL AND CRIME SUPPRESSION INCENTIVE Effective August 4, 2019, a Geographic Patrol and Crime Suppression Incentive of 1.25% of regular salary (non-pension based) shall be paid to eligible officers on a bi-weekly basis. During the period of August 4, 2019, through July 4, 2020, eligible officers are those who are eligible to receive the Uniform Field Officer Incentive described in Article 5.4. Effective July 5, 2020, only eligible officers and supervisors, as defined below, shall receive the Geographic Patrol and Crime Suppression Incentive. 41 MOU24-22 Eligible Officer or Supervisor Defined A. Uniformed personnel assigned to a Geographic Area who are: 1. Police Officers assigned to Patrol subject to watch bumping. 2. Police Officers assigned to Area or Bureau Uniform Gang Enforcement Detail (GED). 3. Sergeants that directly supervise 1. - 2. above. 4. Sergeant II Assistant Watch Commanders or Sergeant-I Acting, that directly supervise 1. - 3. above. 5. Lieutenant Watch Commanders that directly supervise 1. - 4. above. B. Uniformed personnel assigned to a Geographic Traffic Division who are: 1. Police Officers assigned to Traffic Enforcement or Collision Investigation subject to watch bumping. 2. Sergeants assigned to Traffic Enforcement or Collison Investigation, that directly supervise 1. above. 3. Sergeant II Assistant Watch Commanders or Sergeant-I Acting, that directly supervise 1. – 2. above. 4. Lieutenant Watch Commanders that directly supervise 1. – 3. above. C. Uniformed personnel assigned to Metropolitan Division who are: 1. Police Officers, including assistant squad leaders, assigned to Crime Suppression Platoons (A, B, C, G). 2. Supervisors assigned to Crime Suppression Platoons (A, B, C, G), that directly supervise 1. above. Any officer or supervisor receiving Special Pay or Hazard Pay is ineligible for this Geographic Patrol and Crime Suppression Incentive, except assistant squad leaders included in C.1. above. Any officer or supervisor receiving the Geographic Patrol Car and Crime Suppression Incentive who is involuntarily loaned to an assignment ineligible for this incentive shall retain the incentive for six Deployment Periods. Any officer or supervisor who volunteers to be loaned to a non-qualifying assignment is immediately ineligible to receive the Geographic Patrol and Crime Suppression Incentive at the time the loan becomes effective. However, the employee will not be required to reimburse the Department for 42 MOU24-22 any residual payment of this incentive for a period up to one Deployment Period during this transition.
