STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES SECTION: 500.00 / HAZARDOUS MATERIALS Guideline: 507.00 Hazardous Materials Disposal Effective Date: 3-15-94 Revision Date: 1/2023 507.00 HAZARDOUS MATERIALS DISPOSAL Immediate Hazards Determined by the best current available resources and common sense. B. Identify the responsible party. Work with the responsible party to remove it immediately. Furnish contact list for private disposal company. If the responsible party does not cooperate, the Incident Commander or Haz-mat Sector Officer will contact a private disposal company for removal and/or clean up. The Health Department, Industrial Waste, and Fire Inspections will issue appropriate citations to the responsible party. All governing authorities will be notified of all releases of environmentally hazardous substances. Examples: Water Board, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, FAA, EPA, LEPC, etc. Hazards with No Responsible Party Identified A. If immediate hazards exist, the Incident Commander or Haz-Mat Sector Officer will contact a private disposal company for removal and clean up.
