Garcia, Dr. Daniel Ledesma, Sr., Dr. Carlos Marquez, Dr. Hilario Zialcita, Dr. Carlos Vergel de Dios Pioneer X-ray Technicians Dr. Felipe Somera of the UP-PGH Dr. Cirilo Rodriguez of UST Hospital Both are dentist by profession. Luna Hospital He became the officer in charge of the 2nd school of Radiologic Technology in the country - The Marian College which later on renamed as Emilio Aguinaldo College. Headed the association from 1954 to 1957 The founding forebears came from government hospitals such as: PGH, V. Luna Gen. Hospital, Children's and Maternity Hospital, North General Hospital, San Lazaro Hospital, GSIS Medical Clinic and National Chest Center of the DOH. After barely 3 years of existence, the PSXT became inactive. Norberto A. Palomo The father of the Radiologic Technology in the Philippines First X-ray Technologist A Technical Representative of Kodak Philippines, who obtained his education and training in radiography from Melbourne, Australia Philippine Society of Medical Radiologic Technologists (PHISMERT) Formed by Norberto A. Palomo in 1964 M/Sgt. Gilberto V. Palomique was the president Mr. Palomo was the Executive Chairman In order to upgrade its members, continuous technical and scientific seminars were conducted. Among their notable lecturers were Dr. Jose T. Gaffud, a radiologists and Engr. Luciano N. Niguidula, the distinguished pioneer resource professional in physics, x-ray engineering and x-ray protection. (He trained at the National Bureau of Standards, USA in 1934. He was a Philippine Commonwealth Government scholar). In 1969, Mr. Palomo, affiliated the association with the International Society of Radiographers and Radiologic Technologists (ISRRT), through the sponsorship of the Philippine Radiological Society (now PCR) and the Japanese Association of Radiologic Technologists (JART). The PHISMERT was accepted as its 33rd member. Atty. Oscar C. Romero Drafted the bill to regulate the practice of Radiologic Technology in June 28, 1964 Congressman Jovito Salonga authored it in congress The bill failed to pass due to non-existence of a formal school offering such course. Family Clinic The first school in x-ray technology Established in 1969 by Dr. Jose Gaffud, Engr. Luciano Niguidula and Mr. Norberto Palomo Philippine Association of Radiologic Technologists (PART) By years (1972 to 1973), aside from Philippine Society of Medical Radiologic Technologists (PHISMERT), two other organizations emerge, Philippine Society of Radiologic Technicians (PSRT) and the Philippine Institute of Radiologic Technologists (PIRT) Established in 1974 Mr. Gilbert Palomique was installed as president Mr. Jose Cervantes of Philippine Heart Center (PHC) was elected as president. R.A. 7431 An Act Regulating the Practice of Radiologic Technology Approved by Pres. Corazon Aquino on April 22, 1992 After the approval of R.A. 7431, the following events happened: The first Board of Examiners was created. It was composed of Mr. Fortunato Gabon Jr. as Chairman, Dr. Jose T. Gaffud, Ms. Editha Mora, Mr. Dexter Rodelas, and Ms. Eulinia Valdezco as members. The first Professional Board Exams was held on June 26 and 27, 1993. The first oath taking rites of professional radiologic and x-ray technologists to the Professional Regulation Commission took place on November 22, 1993. The Philippine Society of Government Radiologic Technologists (PSGRT) Formed in 1992 Initiated by Gregorio Gallardo, Dolores Pambid and Venancio Villanueva. Ms. Dolores C. Pambid of the Philippine General Hospital was its first president. Held the 1st Annual Congress of PSGRT at Teachers Camp, Baguio City on November 1992. Philippine Federation of Professional Radiologic Technologists (PFPRT) Formed in December 1994 Its president is Gregorio Gallardo of the U.P. Health Service
