Outside notes Surges help initiate the product , if close you’ll have a dead or slow reaction! Make sure they’re open before you shoot your first reaction, check by the line to make sure it’s open. When open nitro is running throug in h to start the product. Small amount of hypo means heavier product (slow down my reaction curve) Va-044 is used for lower temps (mainly heavier product) to make sure the reaction doesn’t stall out. A lot of hypo means littler product (Alot of hypo makes it go faster) ◦ Versenex takes out the copper ◦ Hypo is dealing with molecular weight with the product ( on LP1 you use alot to LOWER the weight) the less you add the HIGHER the weight is ◦ Va-044 thermo calayst like VAZO (LP1 does have it) heats up but have diff temp rates when kicks in starts 15 degrees it’ll activate and heat up (bridge thermo that’ll get you to VAZO) ◦ VAZO heats up at 30 degrees and it’ll get you the rest of the way (take off) ◦ Tbhp & morh salt reacts together in place of VA-044 to heat up to get to the VAZO (certain product) Sparked takes out the ox Persulfate another oxider calayst mostly on post hydro line (3&4) They asked about the salt, ( formula question for 1&2) how often do you catch a dryer sample,( every two hours) How you know when reaction took off( the pressure will go up then it drops back down to zero) MBA hardens the product up (takes RO water) then give lab tech, takes 30 mins Water first Acrymide nxt Then caustic third Acid last The shut reactor valve afterwards It goes 1, 3, 2,4 it skips (reactor valve ex so we just did reactor 1 now we’re doing reactor 3) Review questions To start you oil every reaction 1st. Open your oil let it sit for 2 mins to drain thru -check the bottom to make sure the oil is gone Close the oil on the panel and then open your reducer and oxidizer valves Go back in the control room, tell your board man to kick it From there you 1. You get to your VAZO pot, open the reactor it’s going to then cut the pot off 2. Then hit your nitrogen line to send the product off 3. Wait a min then cut the air off, let the pressure come down, once it stops, open your vent line to release the rest of your pressure. 4. Open the lid, CLOSE YOUR VENT LINE 5. Close whatever reactor ON YOUR PANEL 6. Pour in 20ML of oil the your pitcher of anti foam. 7. Add water til it reaches underneath the bar, cut water off. close the lid and start the pot back up Walk back to your pitchers and turn them on, get ready to start shooting. -pro tip, shoot the liquid a min before the time ◦ Example. Vertex 3:24 you’ll shoot it at 3:23 meaning you’ll put your product in at 3:20 to give it the full 3 mins to spin Nitrogen is used on the sparges When shooting relieve the pressure from the pot (ADZN) You open the pot, cut my relieve valve off, then cut it off on the panel, then add product to the pot. YOU CHECK YOUR SPARGES WHEN YOU START YOUR DRAW DOWN. Cyclone pulls the dust to the stack and the rest of the product (heavier product) goes back into the driers.
