The image is of 2 pages, here is a conversion to markdown: ### Page 1 - Blood Not the crips - Blood color varies from bright red to a dull brick red depending on the amount of oxygen it is carrying. - Oxygen rich blood is bright red - Volume of blood in makes is about 5-6 Liters - Volume of blood in females is about 4S Liters - Blood is known as a connective tissue because it has cells within a matrix. - The nonliving Fluid in the matrix is known as the plasma & the cells and cell fragments are the formed elements. - More than 100 different substances are dissolved in plasma, which is over 90% water. These include nutrients such as gases, hormones, various wastes, metabolites, proteins and electrolytes. - Plasma composition would vary as cells remove or add substances to the blood. - Three main types of elements are present in the blood 1. Erythrocytes or red blood cells (RBC). These are the most cells in the blood which are literally sacs of hemoglobin that transport bulk of the oxygen carried in the blood. 2. heukocytes or white blood cells (WBC) - part of the body's nonspecific defenses and immune System 3. Platelets function in hemostasis (blood clotting Formation) \* Formed elements normally constitute about 45%, of whole blood, while Plasma accounts for the remaining 55%. ### Page 3 Big Body Blood Types of Blood cells * Erythrocytes-(Red blood cells - RBC). Transport oxygen & Carbon dioxide. * heukocytes - (white Blood cells - WBC) Sub Types of heukocytes (White Blood Cello-WBC) 1. Granulocytes Phagocytize pathogens or debris. Neutrophil 2. Eosinophic- kills parasitic worms, slightly Phagocytic - Plays complex rode in allergy and asthma. 3. Basophil - Release histamine and other mediators of inflammation Contains heparin, an anticoagulant. 4. Agranulocytro? Mount immune response by direct Cell attack or Imphocyte via antibody production. 5. Monocyte - Cocated in tissues, develops into macrophages that phagocytize pathogens or debris. \* Platlets - Seal small tears in blood vessels, Very Important in blood clotting.
