The epicenter of the bigger temblor was located 43.9 kilometers northeast of Tainan City Hall in Dongshan District (東山), and the quake has occurred at a depth of 7.7 km, CWA data showed. The intensity of the quake, gauging the actual effect of a seismic event, was highest in Tainan, Chiayi County, Chiayi City, Kaohsiung, Changhua County and Yunlin County where it measured a 4 on Taiwan\'s 7-tier intensity scale.
