PHILOSOPHY SUBJECT READ MY LIPS CHALLENGE: FREEDOM EDITION "YOU WIN IF YOU KNOW HOW TO READ MY LIPS." PRESENTED BY: GWEN MELGO INSTRUCTIONS: The class will be divided into (4) four groups. Each group will select one representative to go in front of the class. The representative will silently mouth a chosen word while their group members try to guess it. MECHANICS: 1) The representative will select a word from a box and, without speaking, mouth the word to their group. 2) The group has 1 minute and 10 seconds to guess as many words as possible. 3) The group with the most correctly guessed words within the time limit wins the challenge. “FREEDOM OF THE HUMAN PERSON” LEARNING OBJECTIVES At the end of the lesson, learners will be able to; Understand the essence and limitations of human freedom. WHAT ARE SOME EXAMPLES OF FREEDOM THAT YOU'VE EXPERIENCED OR OBSERVED? UNDERSTANDING FREEDOM 1. Freedom as an Intrinsic and Essential Property of the Person Freedom is deeply rooted in self-determination and free will. Humans naturally seek to exercise freedom and distinguish themselves by making choices. 2. Self-Determination and Human Freedom Human actions are freely chosen and serve as a reflection of the individual’s character. 3. Freedom in Making Choices We experience freedom primarily through the act of making decisions in life, a direct expression of personal liberty. Freedom also requires a degree of control from the person who exercises it. A person becomes freer when he/she exercises control over himself / herself.
