Chapter 1 INTRODUCTION TO CROWD MANAGEMENT Crowd Management Team Agency Crowd Controller Employee Employer Events Host Employer Venue Workplace Agency In sociology and philosophy, agency is the capacity of an agent (a person or other entity, human or any living being in general, or soul- consciousness in religion) to act in a world. A business or other organization providing a specific service e.g an event company, security company, ticketing office Crowd Controller A person who responsible for keeping the security, safety, crowd comfortable and relaxed and cooling fans Employee An employee is anyone who has agreed to be employed, under a contract of service, to work for some form of payment. This can include wages, salary, commission and piece rates. This includes: o homeworkers o people who have been offered and have accepted a job o fixed-term employees o seasonal employees o casual and part-time employees o employees on probationary and trial periods. Employer A legal entity that controls and directs a servant or worker under an express or implied contract of employment and pays (or is obligated to pay) him or her salary or wages in compensation. Events Event management is the application of project management to the creation and development of large scale events such as festivals, conferences, ceremonies, formal parties, concerts, or conventions. It involves studying the brand, identifying the target audience, devising the event concept, planning the logistics and coordinating the technical aspects before actually launching the event Host Employer A person, group or company who initiate the event and responsible for the funding and gain revenue. Some of the task may be release to other parties e.g event company, ticketing, and so forth. Venues The place where something happens, especially an organized event such as a concert, conference, or sports competition Workplace The workplace is the physical location where someone works. Such a place can range from a home office to a large office building or factory. The workplace is one of the most important social spaces other than the home, constituting "a central concept for several entities: the worker and his/her family, the employing organization, the customers of the organization, and the society as a whole.
