Technical Assistant Zeena Falah 2024/10/20 Face mask of ventilation the face mask is non_invasive technique for airway management Uses of face mask 1. Maintenance of Anesthesia. 2. Pre_oxygenation prior induction Anesthesia. 3. Inhalational induction of Anesthesia. 4. Non_invasive ventilation for respiratory failure. 5. Bag_mask ventilation (BMV) prior to intuition. Types of face mask 1. The open (Simple facemask) Used to delivering supplemental oxygen By 40-60% FiO2 there are additional holes to expired gases comes out. 2. The closed facemask It's provide a complete seal around the patient mouth and nose. allow to deliver of volatile agents. Common use d during general anesthesia. 3. Nasal cannula( 21-50%Fio2) Device used to deliver supplmental oxygen. The most widely use for adult patient carries 1_3 liters of oxygen per minute. The smaller size use for infant carries less than 1 L oxygen per minute Techniques for facemask application The best technique for ventilation is the two-hand E-V technique, with thumbs placed along both sides of the mask to create a symmetrical seal and The four fingers along the mandible for head extension, jaw thrust and mouth opening. ‫حفظ التاشيرات‬
