SELF-CENTERED MORAL PHILOSOPHY by Epicurus Highest pleasures are intellectual; Greatest good is PEACE OF MIND SELF-CENTERED MORAL PHILOSOPHY by Epicurus Highest pleasures are intellectual; Greatest good is PEACE OF MIND SELF-CENTERED MORAL PHILOSOPHY by Epicurus Democritus, the Atomist Everything that exists are made up of tiniest, indestructible and indivisible particles, known as atoms. SELF-CENTERED MORAL PHILOSOPHY by Epicurus God was not the Creator of all things and the gods cannot punish us. Earthquakes, lightnings, sickness and death are not due to the will of the gods but rather can be explained by in terms of atoms. SELF-CENTERED MORAL PHILOSOPHY by Epicurus Pleasure and pain will not be felt anymore after our death. Epicurean philosophy is a form of egoistic hedonism. The only thing that is important in life is one’s own pleasure. Only the quality of pleasure important. Rather than seek to have the most of anything, choose to have the finest. The highest pleasures are intellectual and the greatest good is peace of mind. It is our duty to regulate one’s own desires.
