# Global Alliance for Intelligent Education (GAIE) ## Respected Colleagues of Higher Education: As the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology continues, it has become a driving force for the digitization of education. To further deepen the integration of AI technology with education and improve the quality of education, we hope to initiate the "Global Alliance for Intelligent Education" (hereinafter referred to as the "Alliance") together with you. The Alliance aims to build a shared, co-created and inclusive AI education system, jointly promoting the development of AI education in China and aligning with international standards. ## 1. Background and Necessity Currently, AI technology is driving social progress at an unprecedented rate, particularly in the field of education. The Ministry of Education has issued a number of policies providing policy support and strategic guidance for the development of AI education. Future education, under the development and popularization of AI, will shift from knowledge transmission centered on teachers to capability cultivation and innovative learning centered on students. This marks a fundamental transformation in educational models. However, in promoting AI education, we face significant challenges such as: * Enhancing the AI literacy of teachers and students. * Aggregating AI educational applications and intelligent agents. * Overcoming limitations in large-scale data model training. * Deepening applications across various academic disciplines. * Facilitating exchange among institutions. These issues could potentially slow down the adoption of AI in education, posing challenges to educational equity and quality. ## 2. Goals of Alliance Formation The Alliance aims to promote the deep integration of AI technology with education, building a multi-level AI education cooperation and development ecosystem with the core values of **sharing, co-creation, and inclusiveness.** Through the promotion of AI technology in education and its widespread adoption, we will strive to overcome the challenges faced by AI and other new technologies in educational推广process. We will enhance the AI literacy of teachers and students, promote the standardization of AI tools and the aggregation of intelligent agents, facilitate the integration of large models and cutting-edge teaching content, and deepen the application of AI in various academic disciplines. This will bridge the gap in educational digitalization across different regions and disciplines. ## 3. Core Mission and Action Plan of the Alliance The core mission of the Alliance is to unite universities, research institutions and enterprises across China, to create an open and collaborative ecosystem, promoting the deep application and widespread adoption of AI technology in education. Specifically, this includes: * **Resource Integration and Sharing:** Building an integrated, open AI digital curriculum platform, connecting courses, intelligent agent applications, and teaching cases, focusing on educational digital applications, to support schools in implementing practical AI teaching solutions and application innovations. * **Cross-School and Cross-Disciplinary Cooperation:** Establishing collaborative frameworks among universities that address the unique needs of specific disciplines in China. This involves developing customized AI solutions, promoting the innovative application of AI in academic research and teaching practice, deepening the integration of AI technology with educational teaching, facilitating experience sharing, and achieving interconnectedness among universities. * **Promoting AI and Digital Application Accessibility:** Leading by top universities in China and vocational schools. This leverages the platform to bridge the gap in AI literacy and application, enabling the accessibility of AI education. This involves providing teachers with comprehensive AI literacy and application training, developing teaching materials applicable to different disciplines, and fostering students' AI application capabilities and critical thinking skills. * **Enhancing International Cooperation Levels:** Strengthening partnerships between Alliance members and prominent international universities and institutions, working collaboratively to explore cutting-edge directions in AI education. * **Ecosystem Collaboration:** Schools and enterprises collaborating to focus on educational technology applications, facilitating interconnectedness and providing schools with innovative technical and application support.  ## 4. Social Responsibility and Impact The Alliance is committed to ensuring equity, openness, and ethical AI education, aiming to improve the overall educational quality of Alliance universities, and enhance the AI literacy of teachers and students, strengthening students' competitiveness in the job market.
