To the left there is a column exploring three different aspects of the theory; “Relevant question”(with a green question mark), “Main proponents”(with a cartoon face) and “Reference point”(with an icon of a green book). Moving from left to right across from Relevant Question it reads “Are the categorical imperatives respected?” for Deontological Ethics. It reads “Has the good of the majority been reached?” for Utilitarianism and “Are my actions bringing me closer to the best version of myself?” under Virtue Ethics. The Main proponents for Deontological Ethics is “Kant” , for Utilitarianism is “Bentham” and for Virtue Ethics it is “Aristotle”. There are three “Take home points” that read “Intrinsic value of human life. The end justifies the means. Our actions tend to a life worth living, which is a virtuous life; life is understood as a narrative unity”. Across from “main emphasis” it reads Rules, Goods and Virtues. Across from the section on Limitations it reads It looks mainly at the action, not always considering the outcome (e.g., do not lie).It looks at the outcome of an action, not considering how the outcome has been reached. It does not give concrete rules to follow.
