Tournament Rules
Deck Requirements
- A player's deck must contain a minimum of 40 cards and a maximum of 60 cards.
- A player can have a maximum of three copies of any card (except for certain banned or limited cards).
Match Structure
- A match typically consists of best two out of three duels.
- Each duel is played until one player's Life Points (LP) reach zero.
- The player with the highest LP at the end of the duel is declared the winner.
Dueling Procedure
- The duel starts with a coin toss to determine who goes first.
- The winner of the coin toss gets to choose whether to go first or second.
- The player who goes first does not draw a card during their initial draw phase.
- Players take turns playing cards, attacking, and defending.
Card Zones
- Deck Zone: Where the player's deck is placed.
- Graveyard Zone: Where cards that are sent from the field or hand to the graveyard are placed.
- Field Zone: Where monsters, spells, and traps are played.
- Hand Zone: Where the player's hand is placed.
Winning Conditions
- A player wins the duel when their opponent's LP reach zero.
- A player can also win if their opponent is unable to draw a card from their deck when required to do so.
Common Infractions
- Decking: When a player's deck runs out of cards, they lose the duel.
- Game Loss: If a player's LP fall below zero, they lose the duel.
- Match Loss: If a player loses two duels, they lose the match.
