Wudu Ablution
Wudu is a ritual ablution that Muslims perform before prayer, which involves cleaning specific parts of the body to attain spiritual purity.
When to Perform Wudu:
- Before performing the five daily prayers
- After using the toilet or passing wind
- After sleeping or waking up from a nap
- After touching the genital area
- After eating camel meat
- After experiencing a wet dream
Steps of Wudu:
- Niyyah: Intention to perform Wudu
- Washing the hands: Up to the wrists, three times
- Rinsing the mouth: Three times, using the right hand to cup water and rinsing the mouth
- Sniffing water: Three times, using the right hand to cup water and sniffing it into the nostrils
- Washing the face: Three times, from the top of the forehead to the bottom of the chin, and from one ear to the other
- Washing the arms: From the elbows to the fingertips, three times
- Wiping the head: Using wet hands, wiping the head from the forehead to the back of the head, and then from the sides to the back
- Washing the ears: Three times, using the thumbs to clean the outer ear and the index fingers to clean the inner ear
- Washing the feet: Three times, up to the ankles
