  • Set up to ensure boxing competitions are fair, equal, and safe for all boxers.
  • Applies to all World Boxing Competitions and Boxing Competitions by World Boxing Members.
  • National Federations cannot create contradicting Competition Rules, but may alter them to adhere to the national laws.
  • Any modifications should not undermine the World Boxing Competition Rules, especially concerning medical and safety standards.

Amending Competition Rules

  • Amendments are made at the World Boxing Congress, following the World Boxing Statutes.
  • National Federations, the Sports and Competition Committee, and the World Boxing Executive Board can submit proposals to change the Competition Rules before the Congress.
  • The Executive Board assesses and processes proposals before sending a final version of amended Competition Rules to the Congress for consideration and approval.
  • World Boxing Executive Board has power to make emergency amendments for rules that are no longer applicable, or in changed environments or circumstances, and amendments cannot wait until the next Congress
  • Emergency amendments are ratified at the next Congress.

Rule 1: The Competitions

National Competitions

  • Boxing competitions are organized by National Federations affiliated to World Boxing or by World Boxing recognized partners within their territory
  • Without any involvement of World Boxing
  • Only boxers affiliated to the Host National Federation can take part
  • Organized via the host National Federation rules

World Boxing Championships

  • Entries to Championships and U19 Competitions should be open to all National Federations
  • Championships will be held the in the year following the SummerOlympic Games and every odd year between SummerOlympic Games
  • U19 be held in the year of the Summer OlympicGames and every even year between SummerOlympic Games
  • At least 15 National Federations from 3 Continents must enter final entries for a the Championsip to be valid
  • At least 6 boxers from 2 continents in a Weight Category will validate the category at the Championship
  • Hosts of World Boxing Championships will be selected by World Boxing
  • Event rules dictate max number of Boxers

Continental Boxing Championships

  • Entries should be open to affiliated National Federations
  • Continental Boxing Championships will be held every even year
  • Atleast 10 National Federations MUST be entered in Final Entries
  • At least 4 Boxers must compete to validate weight category
  • World boxing will select hosts

World Boxing Named Competitions

  • Named Competitions MUST contain world boxing in title.

Boxing Competitions at Multi-Sport Games

World Boxing Ranking

Points

  • Points operated on a three-year rolling point system, beginning 2024
  • Maintained for three calendar years
    • Decreasing yearly
  • Ranking will decrease by:
    • 25% on 1st Jan of following calender year
    • 50% on 1st Jan of 2nd calender year
    • 100% on 1st Jan of 3rd calender year
  • The more competitiveness at an event will increase points earned

Example

  • If you earn 1500 points
  • Next year those points are now, 1125 points
  • 2nd year those points are 750
  • 3rd year those points are 0
  • May not accumulate points from more than 4 competition at givent time
  • total points determined based on 4 competitions

Doping

  • Boxers with anti-doping sanctions will not receive points from those events
  • Ranking points are non-transferable
  • Higher points will rank you higher

Seeding

  • Seeding may be applied for elite comps
  • seeding based on ranking system
  • World Boxing executive Board will decide

Medal Ceremonies

  • Need to compete in one bout first to secure medal
  • Conducted as per World Boxing rules
  • Medals should be conducted ASAP
  • Bronze, silver then gold presented with no headgear or flags

  • No signs, statements, demonstrations, objects or people

Prize Money

  • Offered to Boxer or Federation
  • amounts and amounts by Executive Board
  • Transferred via electronic banc transfers within 30 days

Rule 3: The Seconds

  • All Seconds must be delegated with correct skill sets
  • Three seconds aloud to assit a boxer in the ring

Seconds continued:

  • Seonds MUST have a towwel, they also must clean ring and apron
  • No drugd, except the ones outlined
  • Ice bags and swab are aloud

Prohibited rules

  • Seconds MUST stay seated
  • no comunication to secptors or opposing side

Attire

  • Each team must have a team leader, with Coaches and Phiso's and official
