Auggie gets upset at dinner because he feels like Via is hiding something from him.

Auggie's mom and dad make the difficult decision to put Daisy down to end her suffering.

Auggie and Via are both upset about Daisy's death, but they eventually make amends.
Via apologizes to Auggie for not being more understanding and for not including him in her play.

Via is an understudy in the play "Our Town" at her new school.
When the main actress gets sick, Via has to step in and perform on short notice.
Auggie, his mom, and his dad go to watch Via perform, and she does an amazing job.

The play's ending is emotional, and Via cries onstage.
The audience gives the actors a standing ovation, and Auggie and his family are very proud of Via.

After the play, Auggie, his mom, and his dad go backstage to congratulate Via and the other actors.
Via is mobbed by well-wishers, and Auggie's family is over the moon with pride.### Meeting at the Party
A man congratulates the parents on their daughter's achievement, shaking their hands with both of his hands.
The man is about to say something to the protagonist, August, but suddenly freezes.
Via introduces August to the man, and Justin intervenes, pulling the man away to meet his mom.
The protagonist, August, feels overwhelmed and lost in the crowd, surrounded by people bumping into him and giving him a strange look.
August starts feeling dizzy, and the loud voices and blurred faces make it difficult for him to focus.
He tries to adjust the volume on his "Lobot ears" (a hearing aid or device) but accidentally turns it up, shocking him.
August becomes disoriented and loses sight of his mom, Via, and dad, and starts calling out for his mom.
A familiar voice picks him up from behind, and it turns out to be Miranda, a friend or acquaintance.
August is relieved and happy to be reunited with Miranda, giving her a tight hug.
