Clay: The MudWing dragonet of destiny and Cattail's son.
Tsunami: The SeaWing dragonet of destiny, daughter of Queen Coral.
Glory: The "useless" RainWing dragonet who becomes Queen of RainWings and seeks to improve her tribe.
Starflight: The NightWing dragonet of destiny and son of Mastermind.

Blaze: Beautiful and vain SandWing princess who survives the conflicts.
Queen Coral: Tsunami's mother, queen of the SeaWings; most of her dragonets have been killed by an enchanted statue.
Anemone: Tsunami's surviving sister, possesses animus powers.
Orca: Secret animus, Queen Coral’s first daughter; accidentally killed by her mother.
Jambu: Glory's halfwit brother, noted for his lack of intelligence.
Grandeur: Regal old queen who relinquishes her turn in a contest, allowing Glory to become queen.
Kinkajou: Young dragonet taken captive by NightWings; escapes with Glory, adores her.
Queen Battlewinner: NightWing queen living in lava, injured by IceWing death breath.

Moonwatcher: Young Nightwing with powers due to her birth under two full moons; daughter of Morrowseer.
Darkstalker: Animus Nightwing with hidden evil; hatched under three full moons, companion to Moon.
Winter: Jade Winglet member, runs away after his sister's betrayal; has a scavenger companion named Bandit.
Qibli: Former guard of Thorn, currently at Jade Mountain School with Moon and others.

Chameleon: RainWing father of Peril; uses Darkstalker's animus scroll to change his appearance.
Hailstorm: Winter and Icicle’s kidnapped brother, turned into Pyrite.
Queen Ruby: New SkyWing queen, revealed to be Princess Tourmaline under Chameleon's spell; kills Scarlet and uncovers her identity.
