Study Notes

What is CPET?

A cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET) is a noninvasive diagnostic tool used by physicians to assess how well your body uses oxygen during physical activity. It's typically performed on a treadmill with different levels of intensity. This test measures your heart rate, lung function, blood flow, and other metrics while you walk or run to determine if there may be any underlying health issues such as arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, pulmonary diseases like asthma, obesity, anxiety, depression, sleep apnea, or just general deconditioning.
