- The objective of volleyball is to win three sets faster than the opposing team.
- Teams consist of 12 players, with six players on the court at any one time.
- The team is made up of a libero, two setters in the back row, and left, right, and middle hitters in the front row.
- To win a set, a team must score 25 points and be at least two points ahead.
- The court is 18 meters long and 9 meters wide, with an attack line three meters away from the net.
- Hitting the ball over the net and onto the opponent's court is how points are scored.
- A team can only touch the ball up to three times before it must go over the net.
- There are many rules in volleyball, including not hitting the ball onto the ground outside the area of play, not touching the net, and not hitting the ball twice in succession.
- Once a team has won a point, all players must rotate clockwise to stand at a new position.
- A block is when a defender jumps in the air to try to stop an attack from reaching the floor.
- A dig is a play to stop the ball hitting the ground after an attack.
- A libero is a defensive specialist who can come on at any time in place of any back role player and cannot serve or make an attacking shot above the net.
