Game and Scoring
- A game of volleyball ends when a team scores 25 points.
- A team can score points when the opposing team makes an error, such as hitting the ball out of bounds or making an illegal play.
Court Violations
- A player cannot hit the ball twice in a row.
- Players must make instantaneous contact with the ball and cannot catch or hold the ball.
- No player can reach over or touch the net, or step over the center line.
- A player can reach under the net to play the ball, but must not touch the floor on the other side of the center line.
- A team can commit an out of rotation violation if they serve out of rotation or are not in rotation during the opposing team's serve.
- A back row player cannot attack the ball over the net.
- A libero is not allowed to attack the ball over the net, overhand set a front row attack, or block.
