- The arresting or transporting law enforcement or prisoner transport officer, deputy, detective, etc. will secure all ammunition, lethal weapons, and less than lethal weapons (to include firearms, knives, and impact weapons) prior to the prisoner being removed from their vehicle.
- Unconscious, seriously ill, or seriously injured persons will not be accepted into the facility unless medically cleared.
- The on-duty charge nurse will make the final determination regarding the requirement for medical clearance prior to admission into the facility.
- If the contracted medical provider defers an arrestee for medical clearance, admission to the facility is predicated on written medical clearance from the hospital. Clearance by Fire/Rescue is not acceptable.
- Medical clearance will also be required for arrestees that:
- Have a blood alcohol content of .30 or higher;
- Are unable to walk on their own;
- Have received naloxone (Narcan) in the field per EMS, Fire/Rescue or law enforcement personnel; or Any other medical issue requiring hospital clearance as determined by the DOD contracted medical provider.
